If this is true, reading that entire thing is absolutely pathetic. I hope she fails miserably.steve784 wrote:This was on wrestlezone.com today, take it FWIW:
I received the following email two days ago, however I decided to hold off on posting it as it is both unconfirmed and anonymous. This same email is floating around in the inboxes of other internet wrestling media sources, as I noticed that it was CC'd to the addresses of many different online wrestling media outlets. It seems to imply that the Linda McMahon senate campaign was the reason why Bryan Danielson was fired from WWE, and since there has been so much speculation abound as to why he was released, I figured I'd post the email and allow you to be the judge. Furthermore, after speaking with a source inside WWE about this "conspiracy theory," I was told that it might not be very far off from the truth considering the circumstances, so here it is. Keep in mind, the following correspondence is anonymous:
"To whom it may concern;
I am a campaign worker for the Linda McMahon Senate campaign in Stamford, CT and I wanted to pass this information along to you. I am not a "fan" of Mrs. McMahon's family business by any means but I also do not like to see people's livelihoods taken away because of someone's political ambitions.
In regards to the released performer Daniel Brian this decision was made by Mr. David Cappiello the new campaign manager for Mrs. McMahon. After viewing the video of an incident of someone being choked and spat on Mr. Cappiello advised the campaign this could have very negative repurcussions to the campaign as a whole.
It was his decision that many in the media would use this against Mrs. McMahon in her campaign because of it's violent nature and it would bring up memories of the Chris Benoit tragedy which the campaign has tried very hard to distance itself from. He also felt it would significantly hurt her stance on family values to be associated with a product marketed towards children that allowed it's performers to openly spit in the faces of one another. It was this decision that led to the performer being released to show the media that Mrs. McMahon does not tolerate or approve of such behavior.
I am sending this to you from a temporary e-mail address. I will not answer further questions I just thought the truth should be put out there and not this rampant speculation. You can chose to print this or not, I leave that entirely to you."

I really hope that, someday, the WWE returns to the "wrestling" business. Movies and politics are not its forte.

The Kaval/Riley match on NXT tonight was better than 90% of the matches you'll see on Raw. Really starting to like this season of NXT........besides Matt Striker, he annoys the hell out of me.

Kaval is awesome. Riley was impressive too. He is quite good on the mic and could easily hold his own next to Miz. That varsity jacket with the cut-off sleeves is really stupid, though. Kaval is completely unique, not just on NXT but in all of WWE. Something about his persona in the ring reminds me a lot of Tajiri. And that is a very good thing. I hope Kaval isn't this seasons Daniel Bryan. Huge on the indie scene, clearly the most talented wrestler in the bunch, but unable to get a victory? I hope not.
ALso, LayCool is the worst.
Joe Henning stood out too. I refuse call him McGillicutty. There's only one McGillicutty, and her name is Beulah.
One problem with all of the rookies, with the exception of maybe Kaval, is that they use too many rest holds. It's like watching a Brutus Beefcake match.
Does Matt Stryker remember that he used to be a wrestler? He gets laid out by one punch every week.
Side question: is Tough Enough on DVD?

I saw the opening segment of Raw on Monday and wow did Bret Hart sound really labored in his speech and his slip up of saying WWF was pretty funny, albeit likely a reason for the company to punish him.

He's been responsible for two hilarious moments in two straight weeks of NXT. He'll say something that makes absolutely no sense, then to cover for it, he'll play to the crowd.Kicksave wrote:John Morrison pisses me off. He has 0 mic skills.

It's amazing how far his stock has dropped in the last year or so.

Just found this interesting. Was on Facebook, and being a fan of the WWE Universe I get their updates on my news feed...........this came up:
Just when I'm 100% convinced the firing was legit, they go and do something like that. I'm extremely confused. It's been the hottest topic for the WWE Universe in recent memory, so let's talk about it. Here's your LIKE/DISLIKE of the Day: "WWE should re-sign NXT Season 1 Rookie Daniel Bryan."

I told you, they wouldn't have even mentioned him if they just fired him outright.steve784 wrote:Just found this interesting. Was on Facebook, and being a fan of the WWE Universe I get their updates on my news feed...........this came up:

He's fired. He's already taking independent bookings, working in Germany on July 3, will be at Dragon Gate USA's Anniversary show, and will be appearing for EVOLVE. His firing is legit.
That doesn't mean WWE can't resign him and bring him back in, but this is not a work.

Eh they do have loans. It could be just as much a ploy to make it look as legit as possible.nocera wrote:He's fired. He's already taking independent bookings, working in Germany on July 3, will be at Dragon Gate USA's Anniversary show, and will be appearing for EVOLVE. His firing is legit.

I think the truth is in the middle. They needed to make him disapear for a while but they don't want to cut him loose completely. He'll definitely be back.

They let Matt Hardy take independent bookings while still with them before he came back for his feud with Edge.nocera wrote:They're really going a long way to fool smart marks.Malkamaniac wrote:Eh they do have loans. they could be testing the fanbase to try and drum up some internet love/interest in the guy and make a decision based off of that--if the outcry is big enough, they can play it off as an angle. if no one cares, they can stand behind their :cough: moral stance. they win out either way.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Hardy was legitimately released. It wasn't until fans chanted at events and signed petitions online that he was brought back. The WWE played it like another invasion angle and allowed Matt to appear at a few scheduled indie events early on in his return when he was still just attacking Edge and running off. When he made his "official" return, that's when he no longer did indie shows. Why Not Us wrote:

The Matt Hardy/Edge story was so much bigger than Danielson. It transcended smart marks and was a widely known story by most fans. I agree with canaan. He's fired, and the WWE knows they screwed up and made him the scapegoat. Now they're drumming up interest in his return.
