The biggest perk I enjoy working for a Japanese company is the frequent appearances of these wacky Kit Kat flavors in the office. Never had the purple sweet potato, but the edamame one is okay. The wasabi one is fantastic, as are the matcha (green tea), and the strawberry flavors.CBear3 wrote:Oh God no, what would possess them to make such things.in January, Tokyo welcomed the first all-Kit Kat store, featuring flavors like edamame soy bean, purple sweet potato and wasabi.

Why do I have no recollection of this?Froggy wrote:my elementary school gym teacher ended up being my middle school principal. it kind of seemed like an odd career pathCrankshaft wrote:Gym teachers are the go-to teachers to make fun of, but by far if I were teaching and just looking to teach a blow-off subject is any computer class. I took Microsoft Office classes that were just handing out a workbook and you would just have people going through it themselves and turning in the projects as they go. By far the easiest classes to teach, ever.
But regarding this phenomenon, it's pretty common. You have to work your way through the system to be principal, and there aren't a lot of options for men in an elementary classroom. So they teach gym and go to grad school at night to get their masters/certifications.

Re: Computer classes.
My last two computers classes in college consisted of one double period (~90 minutes) of me and a buddy playing Tecmo Super Bowl on an emulator (while others played games like LAN party type stuff...but I don't recall them, I was never really into shooters and what not)
and the other one was a typing class...and one of us would type, the other two would play slimeball (?) (this crude, online volleyball game). When the typer finished, he would copy/paste it into WinPopup and send it to the other two (I feel like I'm the only person that utilized WinPopup, both at school and at home) at which point the typer would play the winner of the previous slimeball contest(s)...
Way easier than gym. At least our gym teachers doubled as Driver's Ed teachers or, more uncomfortably at our age at the time, health teachers...

"Gym teachers" are actually teachers now...more or less. They teach health as well as "physical education", which includes, believe it or not, educating students about being physical. It's still a dream teaching job, but still a teaching position since they actually teach content. That might be a foreign concept to some of us oldsters.

Just saw pictures of Kate Upton in a bikini on a zero G flight on a major news site. Zero G and her, um, "assets" are a winning combination is this guy's book.

On the jet, ready to close the doors and push back. No engine noise. I know this is not good. Captain comes out and tells us that they hit a bird on the inbound.
20 minutes, he says while ground mechanic checks the wing.
Mom and young girl in seat ahead me. Young girl asks, "what kind of bird did they hit?" Jackhole next to me says, "it's a dead bird, who cares."
So, me, jackhole and young girl sit at the gate while young girl now cries about dead bird.
Never answer innocence with dumb.

Wouldn't the zero G sort of cancel out the bounce factor, making the video not nearly as compelling?

she's a model, so really that's where she got her fame from. she's also got a reputation for being a fun loving, easy going person (and there are videos of her dancing around in a bikini, so that helps too...)columbia wrote:Is she famous for anything, other than being sexy?
