Hey, I'm 31 and still love my video games.

I think that is the difference. When we were growing up, video games were viewed as kids toys or for nerds only. But as our generation grew up, we brought that with us. Now it's the norm if you are in your 20s, 30s, 40s and still play video games. And as we get older, it will follow us.
Yeah, I always think like when I'm 50 will I be playing NHL 2036 on my ps8 or will I ever outgrow it lol

Yeah, but how many of you are playing handhelds? And not even a PSP, I mean the "childish" one.

It's still the same principle. My 37 year old brother in law has a DS. He only really uses it to kill time on planes while traveling, and plays those brain teasers, but he still has one.

I also have a 31 year old buddy that plays it all the time.

*waves hand* I'm even playing The Legendary Starfy on my DS right now. It's a nice platformer game. It could be harder, and it does seem to be aimed at a young audience, but it's certainly fun.

Scribblenauts and Mario & Luigi this week! Not sure about the former but I'll be all over the later.

Is it anything like Kirby Canvas Curse? Now that's a fine piece of software. I regret trading it in.

Starfy is a platform jumper that uses conventional controls. Unique points include the fact that many of the levels involve a fair amount of water, and Starfy swims better than he walks. There are tons of secret levels, mini-games, and other bonuses. I’d compare it more to Yoshi's Island DS, although Starfy is far easier than that game. Starfy could really use a difficulty slider to keep it more interesting for older players (although I can simulate such a feature with beer).

Not really. He's the go-to guy in the house when you're stuck in any videogame.

Do you have a DS too? If so, are you helping him out on the two-player levels by joining in as Starfy's bright pink younger sister Starly?

Does anyone remember the game Comix Zone?? ...I think it might have been for SNES. You basically were in a huge comic book, and you had to fight your way through the panels. I thought the action was pretty solid...probably the last time I played it was on Sega Channel, if anyone remembers that.

A couple of things: We finally got Mario Kart for the Wii. If any of yinz know a good website with guides or cheats, please post it here or PM me. I seem to do really poorly online, but I think its because I don't know shortcuts or how to drive very well. But that is one fun game. I usually play with my 3 year old who crashes into a wall near the start line and won't take our help to get back on the track...so at least I won't finish last.

Also, one of the best mods had a major release 5 September. If you own Battlefield 2, the Forgotten Hope 2 mod finally released maps and content for Normandy 1944. It is excellent, well worth the 12 month wait!

Mario Kart with kids is awesome! Family get-togethers always end up with a heated round of Kart. My six year old is the king of finish line victories with a well-timed shell. His uncle (a very competitive guy) is still mad (probably because we always bring it up...) about one unbelievable come-from-behind loss to Ian.

I've only played online a few times but didn't enjoy being schooled repeatedly.

Lol....nothing is more frustrating then running a solid race, only to be struck by a lucky turtle shell 100 feet before the end to lose.

The infamous race's shell spun my brother-in-law out right before the finish line. The whole basement went absolutely nuts. I still laugh thinking about it.
