Re: Current video game being played
I love that game. My wife and I will play it. It's funny, because when I play against my wife, or my friends, or heck, even the computer, I win most of the time. But when you play online, some of those people are just ridiculous. I usually finish the middle of the pack.Admin wrote:Mario Kart with kids is awesome! Family get-togethers always end up with a heated round of Kart. My six year old is the king of finish line victories with a well-timed shell. His uncle (a very competitive guy) is still mad (probably because we always bring it up...) about one unbelievable come-from-behind loss to Ian.Digitalgypsy66 wrote:A couple of things: We finally got Mario Kart for the Wii. If any of yinz know a good website with guides or cheats, please post it here or PM me. I seem to do really poorly online, but I think its because I don't know shortcuts or how to drive very well. But that is one fun game. I usually play with my 3 year old who crashes into a wall near the start line and won't take our help to get back on the track...so at least I won't finish last.
I've only played online a few times but didn't enjoy being schooled repeatedly.
Fun game though. I only know of gamefaqs that can guide you through some of the courses.

Anyone get marvel ult alliance 2? I was planning on getting it but I got guitar hero 5 earlier in the month, and really feel bad about spending that much $$$ on video games inside a month. Plus, I got city of heroes a few weeks back and that's been taking care of my nerdy superhero gaming fix.

An added bonus about mario kart I learned during the playoffs is that it takes exactly the length of an intermission to play through a whole circut.

Been playing through Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in the Trilogy, as well as the original FF on emulator... about ready to head into the Mirage Tower now.

So when your character in Mario Kart starts sweating (?) they sometimes get a speed boost. What makes this happen? It seems to be random.

That not sweat, that air flowing by you. If you ride close behind the person behind you, you get the draft and then can blow by them, much like in real like NASCAR.Digitalgypsy66 wrote:So when your character in Mario Kart starts sweating (?) they sometimes get a speed boost. Playing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in the Trilogy. As far as I can tell, there are no differences from the original so far (not that I really expected any).
I just completed what I consider to be the coolest section of the entire trilogy... the trip through Xenoresearch. It's like you step into a horror movie for 10-15 minutes. Very creepy and extremely well done.

Nice! Get to trade paint with Donkey Kong et al. I like how they trash talk a little bit when they pass (well at least Yoshi does).newarenanow wrote:That not sweat, that air flowing by you. I'm pretty pumped. I just need to beat the Super Story for Episode VI on Lego Star Wars tonight and I'm 100% done with the game.

Guitar Hero 5 in about 5 hours. Had it sitting in my Jeep all weekend and didn't get to touch it since I hung out at the girlfriend's place on Saturday and Sunday.

Re: Current video game being played
It's been back to Fallout 3 since the DLC came out...finally up to about level 22 (and halfway through that) going safari on Enclave soldiers.
(Believe it or not, Bethesda doesn't pay me
I just want to see that DLC will be profitable enough on the PS3 that future games won't be considering Xbox exclusivity....lookin' at you, Rockstar!)

If I get a PS3 this year, I'm getting the GOTY edition with all the content on it.PensBeerGeek wrote:It's been back to Fallout 3 since the DLC came out...finally up to about level 22 (and halfway through that) going safari on Enclave soldiers.

Re: Current video game being played
That would be my recommendation as I haven't yet seen the stand-alone game for $10 (Amazon still lists it for $44.99 even while they have the GOTY available for preorder).Corvidae wrote:If I get a PS3 this year, I'm getting the GOTY edition with all the content on it.PensBeerGeek wrote:It's been back to Fallout 3 since the DLC came out...finally up to about level 22 (and halfway through that) going safari on Enclave soldiers.

I like ODST better then the other Halos. It comes with all the Halo 3 multiplayer maps on a seperate disc.
Firefight is good but you gotta make sure you have friends to play it, there's no match making for it.
