Yep. You can't keep FA though. Don't know what will happen if you end up with more picks than roster spots though.

that makes sense to me. and regarding the situation you mentioned, i have been in other keeper leagues that as soon as your roster is full, you are done drafting which i think works well. i dont like the keep drafting and then choose who you want to cut approach

I've never been in a league where you could go over the roster max. That doesn't state my position, necessarily. But it's not something I have experience in. If you have extra picks, you generally maneuver around in the draft and lose them that way or you swap them for next year's picks...never seen an instance where you continue to select players with a full roster, while other people do not have a full roster.

In my contract years cap hockey league we can exceed the roster size and have a deadline by which we have to cut down to the max roster size. Its fun being able to take fliers on players and see how things go in training camp. I guess I understand the aversion to it, though.

It doesn't really make sense to me either, I would think it would make sense to have an equal number of picks going each way in trades so a 3rd 1st for Tim Tebow turns into a 1st and 17th for Tim Tebow.

I don't really mind it, but in a league where keeper eligibility is determined by you having drafted and retained someone that eliminates potentially keeper worthy players.

This is how I've done things in the past as well.

I guess you could do that as long as you pick 17 players

Yeah, i can see why that makes sense for keeper purposes.

That's a reasonable compromise right?

agreed. that is why i brought this up as i wanted to ensure we had this discussion. there might be someone in the 17th round kraftster wants but if his roster is full by the 14th round, that sort of screws him.

I can see it being a risky strategy to pass on a pick and hope that a player you are interested in is still available later.

Nice work, idoit. I've kept track of the draft just to see whom my replacement pick and what jab you take with each pick.

Who was the RB that is now the QB?

And, for the record, my replacement lost a second round pick, but he was left with an above average group of keepers. Drafting Wilson hurt him or her more than anything.

F did I say QB, its supposed to be CB. Taiwan Jones.

I'm really running out of things to say.

No, you said RB. I screwed up. I have no idea who Taiwan Jones is. You can probably make a comment on starting the FH draft too late every year, and it running right up against the season. You always seem to (correctly) argue that we should start earlier than we do.

With the way things are going, we're going to finish this draft before most teams play 2 pre-season games. that will be some sort of record.

I think I might have taken Britt too high, but I think he's worth the gamble and didn't think he'd still be available later.
