Is that a real or fake account? Also noticed @jamesneal18 on there. I don't see any of the known (Talbot, Tangradi, Rupp, Kenedy) Pens following either of them.JeffDFD wrote:Ha

The only ones that are officially confirmed by the Penguin's PR are Talbot, Tangradi, Rupp and a few WBS players. But I also think Kennedy's is legit. Think this Letang one is fake though.tfrizz wrote:Is that a real or fake account? Also noticed @jamesneal18 on there. jaromir had no choice with being traded, but if he and mr svoboda use the penguins to drive up the salary and he signs with wings~ won't be happy.

Why be mad? That means the wings will have to pay more for him which is good for the rest of the league.penny lane wrote:jaromir had no choice with being traded, but if he and mr svoboda use the penguins to drive up the salary and he signs with wings~ won't be happy.

If Jagr does sign here, I wonder if there's going to be a thread to match the "Crosby Skates" one, "Jagr Bets".

But all reports have been stating that Omsk, and most other KHL teams, are broke and/or bankrupt. I also read that is most likely why Jagr (and possibly Radulov) would be coming back to the NHL -- no money in Russia.Jesse wrote:He's posturing, getting North American media involved in stories about his return, that way Omsk ups that price tag to a cool 9 Million for one year, he gets his final paycheck and rides off into the sunset with it.

Just got done playing EA Sports NHL 94 on the Sega Genesis (oh yeah, baby -- 16-bit totally mind-blowing graphics and game play! You can keep your HDTV, 5.1 surround sound nonsense...) and Jagr scored twice in the third period against the Jets of Winnipeg.
Dude looked possessed with the puck flying all over the ice.

Same things I'm thinking. Kennedy's account was pushed by biznasty wasn't it? I usually view accounts referred by legit users to be good.sprtn55 wrote:The only ones that are officially confirmed by the Penguin's PR are Talbot, Tangradi, Rupp and a few WBS players. Jagr had a choice. He demanded the trade in 2001. CP was going to discuss an extension with him and he flat out asked to be traded.penny lane wrote:jaromir had no choice with being traded, but if he and mr svoboda use the penguins to drive up the salary and he signs with wings~ won't be happy.

Basicly, the Pens choice were keeping Jagr or keeping Lang, Kovalev, Straka and Kasparaitis?Three Stars wrote:Jagr had a choice. He demanded the trade in 2001. Lebrun reported that the pens have said they will only take Jagr if it's a cheap deal. Pierre speculates that means 1M or less.

Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
While I would like to see Jagr back for a reasonable (< $3 mil) price, I agree with those who are betting on Detroit. Even after Lidstrom re-signing, the Wings have (I think) $15-16 mil in cap space.
As I mentioned way back in the infancy of this thread, I think the Wings still need to do a serious refurbishing of their defense, as they only have Kronwall, Lidstrom, Stuart, and Kindl signed. However, they could spend $8-10 mil on two pretty good d-men and still offer Jagr $4-5 mil, which should be out of the Pens' range.
I also agree that it's not the worst thing if Svoboda is using the Pens to drive up the price Detroit pays. That gives the Wings less money to spend on the aforementioned defensive signings.
I have heard no mention of this anywhere, but might Boston make sense as one of the mystery teams that is mentioned? They will be contenders and should have some cap space (and the need for wingers) with Recchi's retirement and Ryder going to UFA.

Is this a new report or the same that broke a couple of hours ago? If its a new one, would that mean more credit to this hearsay?sil wrote:Lebrun reported that the pens have said they will only take Jagr if it's a cheap deal. Pierre speculates that means 1M or less.

I may not have looked hard enough...but I didn't see it posted on this board. Re: Penguins want Jagr back?!
Boston does make sense as the mystery team to be honest. A great hardworking cup win, but one thing they sorely lack is high end skill. Still, who knows if Jaromir's skill is even "high end" anymore. It may be rear end skill.

Would love to be on the extension when JJ gets a call from The Big Guy! How can he tell him no, after all he has said. Can't envision 68 in that damned wheel crest!

Jagr wants to get in on the Dunkin Donuts deal, so I consider this a lock.

If you watched JJ in the World's, you'd be fine with $2 mil.
