Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Just finished NXT. Holy crap the MVP/Husky Harris match was awful. The crowd was completely dead, Husky looked tired and slow throughout. They also talked A LOT throughout it. It seemed like Husky was lost and MVP was doing his best to walk him through it but at least once MVP shouted "what" at him after Husky called out a move. Ugly.
What the hell was Titus O'Neil talking about?

They definitely need to wrestle soon, and, as you mentioned earlier, with Danielson gone, the Nexus (happy?) guys really need to rely on Barrett to carry them in the ring.steve784 wrote:LOL wow, I just read there's a chance that Wade Barrett's work visa issues may prevent him from coming back until late August.............talk about the whole 'Nexus' angle being screwed!

Maybe this will put pressure on them to bring Danielson back sooner rather than later?

I think it's fairly obvious now that unless they rig the internet vote Kaval is winning NXT 2. They can try to bury him like they did to BD (although he did actually get the win last night), but people are going to vote for him regardless.

Apparently Ricky Steamboat had a brain aneurysm today, but is now in stable condition. I wonder if that was triggered by the 'attack' on Monday? Not really sure how aneurysms work.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
That was during a period that I paid less attention to wrestling than I normally do. I remember going to a friends for a PPV. Cena was facing Triple H who was a major heel at the time. The crowd was pretty pro HHH and JR was trying to cover it up as old school fans who just didnt like the new guy on the scene. I asked my friend why they were against Cena when I thought he was pretty popular. He said "Because his gimick sucks" And he was right. Its slightly better now but I havent liked him since. We were disgusted that they had HHH tap out that night to John friggen Cenashafnutz05 wrote:God I can't stand himnocera wrote:

I found it funny that they were really pushing Cena as edgy early on in his career, then he suddenly turned into PG golden boy. FU becomes Attitude Adjuster, STFU because STF (which makes no sense at all). Also interesting in that clip, it seems like the vast majority of fans, including the men, were really into Cena's schtick.

Actually the move has always been called the STF before Cena started using it, they added the 'U' for Cena. It's the stepover toehold facelock. Yes, sadly, I knew that off the top of my head.nocera wrote:STFU because STF (which makes no sense at all).

Cena was entertaining when he started, most likely due to the fact that interviews weren't being completely scripted at that point and he was pretty good at improving lines.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Lord, when i hear them announce Edge as a 9 time world champion, and see the likes of Cena and Sheamus exchange the belt week in and week out, it makes me sick. I remember when Flair being 9, 10, 11 time champion actually meant something. (Excuse me while i get these whipper-snappers off my lawn)
