It's useless trying to compare this WWE to the story lines of the past. If you constantly do it, you won't be happy.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Very good point. I think I was just feeling nostalgic because my friends and I were all off today so went and had some drinks. It turned into a 2 hour conversation about wrestling when we were kids. By the by, Jericho is one of the best heels of all time, and I think Ortons at the point that no matter what he does for the rest of his career, he's going to be cheered, ala Stone Cold.Kicksave wrote:It's useless trying to compare this WWE to the story lines of the past. Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
After last week's crap-fest........quite a solid Raw tonight. Just when I think I'm out.......they pull me back in!
The beatdown at the end was pretty sweet. The one part that had me LOL though was when Cena was trying to make it look like those steel steps are hundreds of lbs. when other times we see people throw them around like they're nothing.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
When Cena said that he's going to single handedly take every one of the Nexus members down, you just know that's exactly what is going to happen in the future. At one point, Cena is going to go Superman and defeat the Nexus in a 7-on-1 handicap match.
*edit*
I wrote this before I finished the episode and the "GM" emailed Cole, setting up the handicap match next week. Hilarious. Speaking of the email GM, it is so annoying. It gets booed every time because it completely kills the momentum of the segment. And now it's TWO iPhone text sounds plus the lights dimming? They need to end this soon. I liked the tease that it's Stone Cold, but given that tease, there's no way that it's actually going to be him now. Anybody else think they're going to tease a huge name as GM for the next couple weeks? "The GM says, and I quote, 'If you rudy-poo, candy a#### don't stop this, the anonymous GM says you can take yourselves down to Know Your Role Boulevard, hang that right at Jabroni Drive, and check yourselves into the Smackdown Hotel.'"

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
I saw the last hour of Raw and it was a pretty solid show. I will watch the end of NXT tonight just to see who gets eliminated. The MITB PPV has a solid card so far and there is less than 2 weeks remaining until the PPV. Kind of excited to watch this PPV coming up because the last one was a dud.

Mr. Perfect Jr. just beat Percy Watson with a sunset flip. Hilarious. I don't think I've ever seen that.

As much as I hate all the stupid little NXT competition things..........Eli Cottonwood talking about mustaches was worth it.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
I honestly think this group of rookies is better than the first NXT outside of Danielson and Barrett. Kaval/Low Ki is awesome as we all know. Alex Riley isn't bad and is good on the mic, Mike McGuillicuty isn't bad, Percy Watson is f'n hilarious and he can wrestle. Husky Harris is passable. Eli Cottonwood blows and will be gone by the end of the night I'm guessing. Lucky Cannon is just kind of there, but he has the look so I guess he stays for a while.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Once Cottonwood and Cannon are gone, this group will be really solid. Lucky Cannon puts me to sleep. McGuillicuty or Riley should've won the "talk the talk" thing. Percy was all over the place.skullman80 wrote:I honestly think this group of rookies is better than the first NXT outside of Danielson and Barrett. Kaval/Low Ki is awesome as we all know. Wait, wasn't there supposed to be a Pro's poll tonight?

Interview guy: "What a match you had with motley"
Wrestler: "Yep"
(awkward silence)

I don't know if this is the same guy, but if you wiki his name, he might have been the fake sting from the late 90s.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
I hate admitting this, but I am actually going to watch TNA Impact tonight because I am going to watch the PPV on Sunday. RVD takes on Samoa Joe in a non title match and I read somewhere that there is a ladder match taking place as well.

At this point, the only thing that could make me want to watch TNA is a full creative change, with Paul Heyman as the head writer/booker. Do that, and you'll get one more viewer, TNA.

Finally got around to watching Smackdown. Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston easily had the match of the week. Maybe match of the month. Great TV match. I'm far more interested in McIntyre's character now that he's no longer connected to Vince.

I don't get how people can say wrestling isn't real. People get hurt, hell Owen Hart DIED. Wrestling is real and there is nothing like sitting around in my boxers, with a lip in, cheering on those jacked badasses

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
That doesn't make wrestling fake. They bleed real blood, and I'm sure they have to go home and sit in ice tubs. Do you want a stone cold stunner pulled on you?Malkamaniac wrote:He died from a failed stunt. Not actually wrestling.MikeEnIke wrote:I don't get how people can say wrestling isn't real.
