I would move it to the irrational pet peeves thread, but I can't convince myself it's irrational.

What exactly is the NFL trying to accomplish with pink stuff? Are they donating ticket sales/funds? Or is it just "hey look, we're wearing pink stuff because breast cancer"?

A small, but unreported portion of the money goes to charity.
Beyond that, it's a tactic to increase sales of women's merchandise, while giving off the appearance of doing a good deed.

Bingo. It's a pitifully small sum.
The NFL's bullcrap "breast cancer awareness" stuff is FAR more about selling merchandise to women that love the pink jerseys and other gear than anything else. It's all about revenue, which makes it all the more maddening when my eyelids are melting from the onslaught of pink through the HD feed.

People who have Brazzers TV often make the same complaint.

After that game it doesn't look like the Steelers will be able to beat the Jets. I was hoping for a least one win, although I should really just be wishing for the worst record possible considering this team has no shot of winning a championship this season.

The Steelers and Giants have won half of the superbowls over the past 8 seasons, but are a combined 0-9 this season.

For anybody who missed League Of Denial last night (I forgot to DVR it since I was watching the pens game), PBS has the entire episode up for viewing.

The intro starts right off with Mike Webster.

Eh, no act of kindness is ever done without a person/entity looking to benefit from it in some way. So I have no problem with it.

Giants continue to set the pace for futility.
Here we go Steelers!
