I absolutely loved the gameplay in Assassin's Creed...but I just got horribly bored after a while.
i also found it somewhat easy, you could take on 15 guards at a time and still make it out alive

Just breezing through the thread, I haven't seen any mention of Assassins Creed II in the past few pages. Assassins Creed was a good game, but not nearly the next-gen experience they made it out to be. It got very repetitive after the first 5 or so main parts of the story, and you just had to fight all the way through it to get to the meat of the storyline, which happens at the very end of the game. That being said, for me it was worth it, and it was a great start to the supposed trilogy. From everything that I've seen, AC II looks awesome, and if it just fixed a few minor things about the original, it should be sick. Check out ign for some video reviews and stuff.
I'd guess the reason Assassins Creed II hasn't been mentioned is because the thread is about what games people are currently playing... AC II doesn't come out for another couple of weeks.
Being that this is NHR, and there aren't really any thread police, I guess I could make a "Upcoming video game being played by me soon" thread and nobody would have beef. :D

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Excellent game, but the boss fights were very repetitive. It captures the essence of Batman, and it's definitely the best comic book-based game I've ever played.

Borderlands is definitely my new favorite game. At first I was mad at myself for buying it, but as I continued it grew on me and now I am addicted. I have also been playing Uncharted 2 and Fallout 3 GOTY.

agreed. i fell in love with assassins creed as fast as i fell out of love with it. climbing towers is awesome..went to..how many towers do i have to climb? *eagle scream!*

so i only played maybe a third of it.

but i can't wait to check out II regardless of not quite knowing the story. it's more about the awesome world anyway. or at least that's enough

Anyone else with an interest in Dragon Age: Origins? I'm looking for something to fill the time until Mass Effect 2 comes out, but I'm not sold on the game yet. Waiting for a few more reviews to come in.

I'm very interested in Dragon Age. I don't think Bioware has ever made a bad or disappointing game, so I doubt you could go wrong in trying it out.

I'm so pumped for it. I'm actually trying to figure out if anywhere is doing any midnight launches for it. I know it's not a HUGE release, but...I'm hoping.

I started two downloads of Dragon Age this morning. Hopefully one of them has finished when I get off work =)

Very much enjoyed this review from IGN UK: http://pc.ign.com/articles/104/1040976p1.html

Mine will arrive in the mail today. I really want to take a half day. Probably my most anticipated game this year, especially after reading all of the glowing reviews out today.

What are your computer specs like? With the PC version scoring much higher than the 360 version, I'm debating which version to buy but I'm unsure if my computer could handle it.

Got Lego Rock Band today... the game itself is amusing and fun, but the randomizer seems even worse than RB2's... aside from picking Grace on 2 consecutive "surprise" setlists, right after I played Dig, I had to do a 2 song random set... first song? Dig.

IGN gives ever big game an 8 or higher. GameRankings FTW.

I always liked and for the most part agreed with IGN.
