Larionov and Tretiak are rumored contenders for the post. The deposed guy Stebkin was a belligerent drunkard.

Well, hopefully whomever gets it will make getting the transfer agreement done their first priority.

I guess we will know very soon because the very next day (4/26) the Russian Federation envoy will be negotiating with Bettman in Washington about the release of Russian players for the 2006 WC.

Yep, fair is fair. It's almost too bad they couldn't have held the Olympics over their heads. I am thinking that would hold more weight than the WCs, though we might not have gotten a chance to see Malkin in the Middle. :wink:
