Not sure what this is all about but:
The Pittsburgh Penguins will not be skating on Thursday morning as they usually do on a game day. The players will be available to the media at approximately 11:30 at the Mellon Arena.
No game-day skate today instead...

CP Has Corrupted MT Already?
I'm sure they are so tired, having played one game the last 4 days. So this is a reward for the supreme effort they put forth last night

players available for...

fight song to perform?

Sens have become the Pens from the 1990's.
I'm looking forward to seeing a match up of Sidney versus Z Chara.
I don't think Chara is hurt.

Actually, the public humiliation will be tonight :x . And no, Chara is not hurt. He played last night. But don't expect much out of Sid. He is sick, and didn't do much at all last night. Wouldn't suprise me if he didn't play.penny lane wrote:public humiliation...thoughts on the superbowl...they have steeler

The thing is, they did look tired last night. Not just Sid, but the whole team looked tired.
I think the guys have played harder under MT, but it still looks like a chinese fire drill.
Furthermore, I am sure they are mentally exhausted with all the losing.
A little time off the ice at this point cant hurt.

Tired or Slow
There is no way they were tired last night. But as many of us have said all year, this is a SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW team. They are always a step behind. it was striking to turn on the NJ/Ottawa game right after ours ended. The pace was so much faster it was unbelievable.
Seriously, who on this team has above-average speed for their position?
Sid
Recchi (maybe)
Koltsov
Whiutney (but he doesn't use it)
Anyone else?

sick athlete = unbelievable games
Okay so last night crosby didnt do anything ridiculous but I am excited about tonight none the less...
call me crazy but i still enjoy sitting down for the games even when i know they will lose or get blown away... its still the pens and my love for the city!
back to sick athletes though... growing up playing many sports and such and playing college athletics as well I have come to know that when i was under the weather I some how played out of my head or ppl would come up to me and say wow you played extremely well...
I have also heard this happening with other amature players as well... but unfortunatly i do not have the time or patients to sit here and look up pro stats on games athletes are feeling ill...
needless to say i believe it is a common thing to see when athletes are under the weather/hurt alot of the times they play insane/crazy...
what do you guys think... that itself keeps me excited!

Re: Tired or Slow
If you would have read all of it...it isnt just a physical thing...they played like they were mentally exhausted. Maybe they are burned out. With all the losing, how can they not be? They are indeed a slow team, but they all looked like zombies out there except for Recchi,,,it was his birthday. LOLMad City Mike wrote:There is no way they were tired last night. No matter how much practice time these guys get, they are not going to get faster. If nothing else, they just need a break from it.
I do know how these things work...as I do coach three sports...ask me sometime how my coaching record is.
