I saw the replay and Jagr just reached out to try and put a body on Gomez. It was like he took a run at him or anything.
Tom Renney gets part of the blame for this. It was a 6-1 game and NY was shorthanded. Renney said he put Jagr out on the kill for "practice." WTF? Has anyone ever seen a team put their best place on the ice in a game that was already decided for practice?
Practice? We talkin' 'bout practice?

Jagr is out for at least the next game.
I think the Rangers are now gone for sure.

I bet it wasn't even on Renney. I bet Jagr was demanding to be double shifted at that point simply to pad his stats for the game not win.The Futuristic Bird wrote:I don't know. I watched the play at the time, and the replays, and I think he was trying to take a bit of run at Gomez. I think he was frustrated and tired, and tried to do something well out of his game and hurt himself. Judging from his reaction, and awkward follow through, I'm wondering if he didn't tweak his always problematic groin.
You're right though. Renney mismanaged that game. There's a time to double shift and put Jags out in different situations, but that wasn't the time.
