Ruff called the Flyers "idiots"

Post by FuturePens »

I know this isn't a Pens post directly, but I hate the Flyers and our season is over, plus something happened today that I thought was hilarious and wanted to share with the other thousands of Pens-Flyers haters.

"Use a different word if you want, but I thought they did," Ruff said. "The more they acted like idiots, the more we wanted to play.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2 ... id=2420562

I hope the Sabres can deliver another Umberger like hit on Hatcher and destory them 10-0 in game 5...(Flyers might squeeze one at home)...
That would be my personal wish.

They brough that up when the Flyers coach went up... he took offense and said that Ruff shouldn't talk and then said, "That's it!" and walked off... It really hit home.

Hitch told the media to tell Ruff to go **** himself and then stormed out.

I mentioned in the other thread...quotes like this by Ruff have a tendency to alter the course of a series. I sure hope Ruff didn't shoot himself in the foot with this one. I expect Philly to come out flying in the next game.

Especially if Prims and RJ are in the lineup.

Don't listen to him. This was the first I've seen it posted. Sour Grapes overflow to a Penguins message board.

I can just see it now. RJ and Prims, the Concussion Crew, fly back to Philly to save the series and lead the Flyers to the cup!

Look, up in the sky!

It's a bird! It's a plane!

NO!

It's the Concussion Crew!

Aw, wait. Ones already fast asleep and the other can't stand up straight.

Hm, I guess that isn't as good an idea for a TV show as I thought.

Is this the same Keith Primeau that has 57 points in 128 career playoff games? He does have 213 penalty minutes though so those will probably come in handy.

He and Umberger would help but they are going to need a lot more than those two simply showing up to turn around what has happened to them so far.

The bottom line is that Umberberger was knocked out with a solid clean hit and the Flyers have reacted like, well, idiots. Whether its their goalie attacking someone at the bench, hits from behind or punching people in the head it has consumed them and the Sabres have reacted by playing hockey and taken the first two games.

The holier than though act is old and tired. Im surprised Hitchcock did not bring up Crosby and diving again just to give his media cronies something else to write about instead of the 8-2 beating.

For true!!!

Greg says the major problem is that none of the Flyer players can read. When Hitchcock posted a sign reading "Go out there & play good hockey" they read it as goon hockey. They don't even have to make an effort with that. Floppa & the goon guys! :D And I like Forsberg...

Actually, I do like Michal Handzus. Talk about underrated!

During the time that you choked four straight times in the finals, we etched our name in two cups. And that is what matters. As for those missed playoff runs, we capitalized on the chance to build a young team that can win it all...again.

So while your Flyers maintain altitude at the contending-but-not-quite level we will be eyeing up championships with...

Yeah, I've been hearing that for years. There is a way to build a team of youth and not be a laughing stock of the league for 4 years you know. The Flyers for example are set for the future, they have plenty of top prospects and young players making an impact and still are able to compete year after year.

You guys won't be making the playoffs next year neither. All those prospects haven't gotten you anywhere. Only here are there people bragging about getting top picks while the rest of the league laughs at your franchise.

It seems you guys have no problems being the worse team in the league year after year but hey you'll be good someday right. 2010 isn't that long to wait to make the playoffs. By that time all the youth you've aquired except for a few will have hit the road.

Seems to me you do alot of talking up for the Flyers, who are a big playoff disapointment every year.

Derian Hatcher No Cup

Mark Recchi No Cup

Tony Amonte No Cup

Turner Stevenson No Cup

Sami Kapanen No Cup

Peter Forsberg No Cup

You bash the Pens for not making the playoffs, and call them the laughing stock of the league. The same could be said for the Flyers come playoff time. Clarke tries at deadline time to make that one big trade to put Philly over the top, and has landed big names via trdes and signings, but it usually ends up in an early exit. This year was a joke for our franchise, I am not to proud to admit that. But the Flyers are always going to be a playoff contender, and a cup pretender.

I'm not sure you could say we're bragging, but we sure are happy to see the additions that are being made to the team...we need that & our ego's aren't so big that we think we're 'marvelous'. And for those who laugh...whoever they are, then they don't see what the Pens have been forced to do, like other teams in the past, & that is rebuild from the ice up.
So some people smirk; so big deal. Let's just hope they don't find themselves in a similar position in the near future.

And while some understand what we're doing & are intelligent enough to see the bigger picture, there's one thing that stays the same. And has stayed the same for a lot of years. Everybody hates the Flyers.
Go to any message board of any other team in the league & that's blatant!
Please don't be dumb enough to mistake that as respect.

It must warm your heart to hold the title of most hated & not have anyone cheering for you to win the Stanley Cup.

It has nothing to do with language snobbery. Heck, I just used snobbery. It just has to do with "You got owned" being an idiotic saying.

Since you're so good at recognizing idioic sayings, you'll also see the faults in "I think this new saying is idioic, so it is idioic"
