Kudos to OLN...
They still have a way to go regarding their own coverage, but it's nice to see that someone there at least knows good hockey boradcasts when they see it, and entered into an agreement with CBC to patch into their feed on several occaisions.

Re: Kudos to OLN...
This though is the problem with OLN, 19 playoff games will be played this week, OLN will televise 8. Of those 8, 3 will probably not be seen in their entirety as the 7 o'clock games will probably run past the start of the 9:30 games. Throw in an OT game or two and potentially half of the second game could be wiped out.netwolf wrote:They still have a way to go regarding their own coverage, but it's nice to see that someone there at least knows good hockey boradcasts when they see it, and entered into an agreement with CBC to patch into their feed on several occaisions.
The ratings on NBC were down 15% last weekend from what ABC did two years ago. I have a feeling they could be even worse due to the fact OLN is not available as widely as ESPN as we all know some people simply will not have TV coverage of any non-weekend games. Why bother watching Game 4 of a series on a Saturday if you have not been able to see Games 1-3 and won't be able to see any of the following games.

Yeah, what's up with that? They had Emerick as their #1 PBP guy and then once the playoffs start their top announce team is Joe Benenati and Darren Eliot? Who?relantel wrote:If they didn't use that Caps announcer for the Devils-Rags game it might be watchable. Had to switch to HNIC/Canes @ Habs... better game. 2-1 Habs after 2, close game.

Benenati = annoying Caps announcer whom my mother always called "mush-mouth of the south". Habs better game tonight. I mis-stated the score earlier, heard Habs were up a goal, and assumed 2-1, but it was only 1-0 at the time. Still is with 12:40 to go in regulation.netwolf wrote:Yeah, what's up with that?
