About the team and its direction

Post by MarioLives »

Is anyone else surprised at just how bad this team is? I am being serious here. Minus the FA additions, I really thought this team was loaded in the minor leagues after all these years of horrible play. Is anyone else surprised at how this team is no better than it was 4 years ago??

WBS is winning left and right, and at 34-6-3-2 has fewer losses including OT than the NHL Pens do wins! And that's with half their roster in Pittsburgh night in and night out.

It's almost as if the powers that CP want to return to the days of the Hornets.

Based on the radio interviews Rendell (Gov. Pigbreath) conducted today I don't know anymore. It could be North, South, East, or West.

Good question...

I am becoming VERY disheartened with the prospects of the Pens staying here in Pittsburgh. It seems more and more that, with Rendell's rhetoric, the gaming license is unlikely to be awarded to the Isle of Capri group.

1) Why all-of-a-sudden suggest a 'Plan B' when the gaming license is 'supposedly' still up-for-grabs? Is this (likely) a pre-emptive excuse to cover Rendell's ass WHEN the Pens leave?

2) What exactly IS Rendell's gripe with the inability to negotiate with the Pens? Perchance somebody might suggest to ol' Ed that he has had YEARS to push for an arena for the Pens (YEARS after Mario was PROMISED an arena coming out of bankruptcy proceedings)...and has done next-to-NOTHING!!! Why? No public support for a taxpayer funded arena.

3) Funny...running for reelection for governor, Rendell will NEVER float a taxpayer-paid arena option...UNLESS...he realizes that the Pens will be LONG GONE prior to this option being a possibility.

Rendell KNOWS that it's the gaming license or bust for the Pens. Suggesting a Plan B is a red herring, as Rendell KNOWS that this 'plan' would only be implemented LONG after the Pens have relocated...hence...it WON'T ever happen.
