I'm curious as to see if he'll make the jump or not. I think that part of the reason why he posted on LGP.com was because you could just type away without registration.
I know some of you won't care but when talk was strictly hockey/arena, I enjoyed his posts.
Will Mark Madden make the jump to the new board?

I think he will. I also think he will have to tone down his behavior because his name could be banned. I don't imagine Madden will register with an alias after his name has been banned.nocera wrote:if he cares as much as he claims he does (and i believe him), he'll make the switch with the rest of us. 5 minutes of registration are worth it to spread the word

I don't agree. I think him coming with his attitude is a bad thing for the board. Unless, you consider having more trolls and mean people follow Madden to this board as being a good thing.FallenHero96 wrote:Madden will never get banned. I'm shocked more of you do not realize that.
This was a far better board prior to Madden coming.

Trolls will come no matter if Madden is here or not. I, for one, liked having a radio personality here. Despite what you all might say or think, he does have inside information that I always found interesting.Daniel wrote:I don't agree. I think him coming with his attitude is a bad thing for the board. I am hoping that 'Kovy Is A Done Deal' (aka the gutless PG employee) doesn't take the time to register here.

I agree that trolls will come, but they seemed to come more often after Madden started posting. I think Madden brings nothing to the board but an abrasive and insulting style. This is not his radio show. He might have inside information, but we rarely, if ever, see it. I have never read something from him prior to reading it elsewhere and the fact that he will steal material gives him no credibility in my book.
I do agree that Kovy is a done deal shouldn't be allowed on this board. He brings less to the board than Madden does.

The trolls didn't come because Madden posted on the board...the trolls came when Madden talked about the site on his show which isn't such a bad thing because all the new traffic probably helped out Admin a lot.
Mark had a lot of good posts until he pissed off people about the Andy Ference thing and then reading MCM's thread on the air and claiming it as his own. People like to hold grudges and will just start calling him names whenever he posts now, which will prompt him to fight back. As long as people don't jump to just calling him fat and a waste and whatever people call him, he brings a lot to the board.

Maybe the traffic did help Admin. I am not sure if this is a fun thing for him, or if he is dependant on the revenue this board generates.
Madden alienated himself almost immediately. He made some crude comments to Jerez and Ginger (and I am sure a few more). The carp comment was out of line.
He basically acted like this was his radio show and we were all listeners.
I agree that people shouldn't insult him, but he brought any abuse on himself.

I don't think Admin depends on the money as far as paying bills and to put food on the table for his family, but i'm sure it keeps the site afloat. Bandwith and everything that goes into keeping the page up costs $$.
He did make comments that were out of line, i'm not saying that he was right in doing so...its just there comes to a point that you have to grow up and realize its a message board and the schtick he uses on the radio and on the board isn't really him.
And as far as hes treating us as though we're his listeners...well, some if not most of us are.

So because it's a message board anyone can say anything they want and people should just "it's just on a message board" and shrug it off? Part of good conversation is being able to have opposing viewpoints without resorting to personal attacks and insults.Kicksave wrote:He did make comments that were out of line, i'm not saying that he was right in doing so...its just there comes to a point that you have to grow up and realize its a message board and the schtick he uses on the radio and on the board isn't really him.
Posting on a message board shouldn't excuse people from being civil. That goes for both Madden fans and Madden haters. There are some that attack him without direct provocation, but more often than not he brings that on himself, and I suspect he's looking to elicit that kind of repsonse anyway.

I agree with that and for the most part I just ignore him like any other troll. As for his schtick, I am not really sure that isn't 100% Madden.

I respect that. However, we come to this board to discuss hockey, and everything else. We don't come for the same nonsense that he has on his show, at least I don't.
