He really didn't elevate the game of hockey during his tenure in the NHL. In fact, Avery de-elevated it.
His earlier comments regarding Dion Phaneuf reflected a total lack of class. Glad he's gone. The game is better off w/o him.

Good read. I lol'd at the players hiding there wives from their girlfriends line...
All seriousness. It's a good read and shows you need to have good smart people around you (if you're not one yourself) when it comes to multi million dollar contracts!
