Penguins PR

Post by borohcky9 »

I was just sitting here thinking about next year ( since we dont have much to look forward to this year) and I was wondering how the relations with Malkin are, if any.

It dawned on me all to logically that if you have a top class prospect such as him and he is caught in a tough situation with the Russian Superleague. Wouldnt it be logical to have someone from the organization over there constantly attempting to make good relations with him and his team and owners.

We should be attempting to "sell" him on the city of Pittsburgh and the Penguins in the same fashion that college recruiters do to there prospects.

Even have Patrick go over at the end of his season, for a congratulations of sorts and have some quality conversations about his future in the organization.

Any thoughts?

CP is a dead man walking

Nobody from the Pens greeted him when he was in North America at the WJC. Why do you think somebody is going to fly all the way to Russia? CP is done. Mario has checked out. There is nobody at the wheel right now to run the organIzation.

From all reports Malkin loves his situation in Russia. He is playing for his hometown team. The stuff about them opening a new arena next year is disappointing to hear.

From all accounts, the only way to sell anything to the Metallurg owner is by lining his pockets. Malking has made comment sabout wanting to be here next year and that he thinks there won't be a problem, but the owner had made comments to the contrary earlier and was talking over a million to release him.

I guess time will tell...

Well the pens pissed away over a mil in some useless UFA signings so if they knew they could get him then I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger, but I also wouldn't want to be the guy to set the precident either.
