Assuming he signs a 3 year extension and stays healthy with the same point/game pace or similar, he could end up 700 goals, 1200+ assists for his career. I know it's a lot of assuming and projecting, but it is possible he ends up in the top 5 ever in total points. Imagine if he caught Jagr for #2 or something unimaginable like became the second player to ever crack the 2k barrier?!?

Great accomplishment by Sid. It's a pleasure to watch him play for as long as he has. Hopefully he has many years left here!

You get the impression that this accomplishment resonates with Sid more than a lot of others.

It's a Gordie Howe kind of record. Sid has always been a notable fan of Mr. Hockey, his career, and what he represents as far as drive, will, and consistent excellence over time.

The team has scored 19 goals in the last 5 games. Sidney has been in on 13 of them.

In addition to the 99 games missed during his prime, Sidney has played in a generally offense-suppressed era. Even with those missed games, according to Hockey-Reference's Adjusted Points calculation he's already 4th all-time in scoring, behind only Gretzky, Howe and Jagr.

Sidney also won his 1,000th faceoff of the year last night. His 1,002 FOW lead the league by ONE HUNDRED NINETY over 2nd place, Vincent Trochek. That margin of 190 that separates 1st from 2nd place, separates 2nd from 17th.

There's never been anything like Sidney Crosby, stylistically or statistically.

That faceoff fact is something! Crosby should be a Selke winner this season. It's about damn time!

Sid is now the only player in NHL history with 19 seasons all at greater than 1 point per game.

Gretzky scored 48 points in 48 games in 1995, so he had 18 of 19.

I feel like this should be a bigger deal than it is.
