Re: Associate Coach Todd Reirden let go
I never understood bringing him back. The team has gotten worse the longer he has stuck around.

That's one step in the right direction. Should have been done a day after the season ended, but Sully wants his guys.

Sullivan wouldn't be unemployed for long if he were fired here.

The most obvious staff layoff since the advisor to Olaf the Hairy, high chief of all the Vikings, accidentally ordered 80,000 battle helmets with the horns on the inside.

Josh Yohe has an article at The Athletic. "Laughable" that people think there is tension between Dubas and Sullivan. Same page.
Yohe does not blame the power play for missing the playofffs...
Roster construction. True, but real opportunity to make the playoffs two past years.
Sid and Dubas will be in Prague, a great opportunity to see if Jaromir has consultant interest. Yohe suggested sjs fired coach, as he is good friend of Sullivan.

Re: Associate Coach Todd Reirden let go
How Yohe doesn't blame the 30th ranked power play on missing the playoff by 2 points doesn't make a lot of sense. Roster construction? come on. This team has the talent to make the playoffs.penny lane wrote: Fri May 03, 2024 3:25 pmJosh Yohe has an article at The Athletic. Look at Washington, Islanders, Nashville, LA, hell even Boston doesn't have a great lineup. It's more system and coaching!

Well, its true, he should be guarding the players wives, so no one would score.

Re: Associate Coach Todd Reirden let go
I would guess the rest of the coaches are safe then, usually they fire all coaches that are going to be fired at the same time

Re: Associate Coach Todd Reirden let go
Agreed. the powerplay was the issue the entire season. If they were even 15-10 percent better, they'd still be playingKG wrote: Fri May 03, 2024 4:15 pmHow Yohe doesn't blame the 30th ranked power play on missing the playoff by 2 points doesn't make a lot of sense. Re: Associate Coach Todd Reirden let go
Reirden being let go was a given with the way the PP failed all Season. How many games were there for the taking if they had simply converted on 1 3rd Period PP- at least 7 and that is being conservative.Add in being at the top of SHG Allowed and never finding a way to get a Top PP difference maker in Erik Karlsson to be a factor and there wasn't any doubt that it had to happen.

Re: Associate Coach Todd Reirden let go
David Quinn was a LD and former 1st RD pick by the North Stars. I could easily see him join Sullivan as the D coach.
