Who cares. Not a controlling interest so nothing would change.

Yeah, I can't see how anything would change if it's just a minority stake. I guess it might bring more money into the ownership group overall.Antonio wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 6:47 pmWho cares. Not a controlling interest so nothing would change.

Depends on the deal, Glaziers have sold about 25% of Manchester United, but INEOS group that bought it have full control of Football operations, picking managers and so on as part of the deal. Lets hope this will be the same.largegarlic wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 7:51 pmYeah, I can't see how anything would change if it's just a minority stake. Any changes at the corporate level that allows for the dismissal of the coaching level would be welcome. Are you able to share ensight as to the removal of a head coach of professional football (soccer) with minority corporate owners?pekkasteele wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2025 2:43 amDepends on the deal, Glaziers have sold about 25% of Manchester United, but INEOS group that bought it have full control of Football operations, picking managers and so on as part of the deal. Mario is not going to leverage funds to buy-back the majority share. His take of 300+ million places him as the richest NHL player, ever. Smartest player as well.

Re: FSG to sell minority ownership interest?
Yea, the minority group (INEOS) Fired Eric ten Hag a few months ago for Man U, and he was hired by the Glaziers so there was no problem there. Eric was hired to restructure the entire backoffice but that did not go so well, and dureing the summer INEOS fired lot of the backoffice staff and Hired their own. They have full control of the football side of thing, Glaziers, I think, manages the business side still, dealing with sponsors and so on. INEOS also manages the stadion, it will be renovated, or they will build a new one. So the have lot of power even thou they are minority owners.BigMcK wrote: Tue Jan 28, 2025 2:58 amAny changes at the corporate level that allows for the dismissal of the coaching level would be welcome.
