Official GDT: Pens vs Preds 2/1/25

Post by DelPen »

At the Baby Pens game, 2-2 after 1. McGroarty looks like his skating is better, Murashov looking good, first goal was a shorty that Koivunen didn’t back check on into the zone and the other took the weirdest arc on a deflected dump in I have ever seen.

Before the trade last night I would have expected a Penguin win tonight. We'll see how they respond to losing Petts and OC. A loss wouldn't me the worst outcome considering the big picture.

Imama still playing is an odd choice if you care about winning.

Agreed, I think this trade signifies we'll sell in earnest.

I looked in on the WBS goals...I think Ponomarev stole one from McGroarty. RMG made a nice move to beat the goalie, it popped up in the air over his shoulder and looked like it was going in, but Ponomarev came in and whacked it out of mid-air to make sure it was in. RMG heating up is a good thing.

Ooooff.. that LD.

POJ, Grzelcyk, Graves.

Help me, Owen Pickering, you're my only hope!

(Having a glance at WBS vs Charlotte, saw RMG out on the PK for a bit)

Taking into consideration the way Sullivan has handled the Roster its the kind of decision that he usually runs out there.
Not concerned with being held accountable for it.

Definitely like how McGroarty is showing confidence and improving.
Koivunen and Ponomorev are both lighting it up.Both are showing their speed and skill.

Boko is getting a lot of Ice Time early.
They likely want him to go with McCarron.

WBS still at 2-2 against Charlotte, getting hemmed in for stretches and outshot 22-11.

Murashov will play quite far forward to challenge shots. At the bottom of the second, with plenty of skaters near the crease and the circles, he slides forward in a butterfly at the top of the blue paint. This guy is not lacking confidence. Looks like he tracks the puck really well too.

Pickering just took a dirty hit in the corner that the refs are losing control of.

In terms of "you don't see that every day"..

WBS on PK, Gruden gets out on a breakaway, puck gets away from him. Checkers goalie comes out to play the puck and send it to the corner. Instead, he knocks it in his own goal
