Aside from the '22-'23 season, he wasn't horrible. He definitely was that season. But this year, he was reasonably serviceable in the role he was put in, if not overpaid by probably x2.

I'm glad he had a nice game to close it out. The guy is a standout NHL'er, for sure. Happy Trails to you, Big Jeff. Thank you for the highlights and let's all just forget, finally, the lowlights.

His goal last night was also his 100th point for the Penguins.

I got his signed puck in my charity bag last year. Wasn't super thrilled at the time because of how his season went last year. But like you said he did what he was supposed to do this year and handled being scratched a little bit this year like a professional so I can appreciate his time here for what it was.

I definitely agree regarding his role this year, but not at $3M per. Wish him all the best in retirement. Nice to have that $3M to play with now.

I thought it was very classy for The Islanders to line up and shake Carter's hand after the game. Great show of sportsmanship.

That and for the team to give Carter the 3rd star of the game.

Carter said Bo Horvat told him that some of the Islanders players wanted to say goodbye if he would agree to a handshake line after the game.

Very classy move.
