I've had a Nedved jersey on my eBay watchlist for probably over a year. I don't think it is an authentic (it's sized as "XL") but it's the same style I had when I bought my first authentic Nedved. He kept lowering the price every so often and did so again a few weeks ago. I made him an offer about $20 cheaper and he took it in about 3 minutes. So, sweet, Nedved jersey on the way. It's coming from Connelsville so if you're an LGP'er (doubt it), thanks!

Well, he is neither 40-something (just 39), nor Czech, but let's not create a special thread. Anyway, the Prince of Darkness announced his retirement today, after the last game of Slovakia at the WC in Minsk(1G + 2A in 7 games there).

And now there is only one...

Jiri Slegr officially retired today!

Retirement intervew: "End, Finished. I fulfilled everything! No return this time."
https://translate.google.com/translate? ... edit-text=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

(beware: Google translate screwed up quite a lot this time. In addition to missing many "nots" (e.g. "even though he was NOT on the ice"), there are gems like "When a man is little, and gets into sports, he tends to have some goals" gets translated as "Man, when the MILF and starts to do sport and has some goals." :lol: )

I loved when Nedved, Straka, Lang, Kovy, Slegr and Jagr were here......they were so fun to watch. Lang had a very underrated wrist shot, I still remember when Straka picked off Gonchar's pass against the Caps in the playoffs and ended the game, and of course Kovy's anger inducing rage inside me every time he would stick handle through the entire team, score a goal and then disappear for a long stretch......

Yeah, this is an awesome thread, thanks for starting it.

With my wife being Czech and having had the good fortune of visiting the Czech Republic a few times, I am always interested in these former Pens. My youngest son is named Martin and that choice was strongly influenced by Straka, just such a heart and soul player, a great team guy.
