Nedjelkovic has been good overall this season, but this is why I can't get behind the calls to trade Jarry and sign Nedjelkovic as the long-term solution. There's a reason he's been mostly a journeyman backup.

Was it his response to Jimmie saying “I can't believe this is the same car.”

Not the quote I'm thinking about and not "If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So, pretty please... with sugar on top."
EDIT: Yeah, I missed what you said about Jimmie. You are correct.

Exactly. And this was his opportunity to start the “Trade Jarry” chants. He has to be better than that. Did that go 5 hole? Because it looked like his stick was off the ice.largegarlic wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:47 pm Nedjelkovic has been good overall this season, but this is why I can't get behind the calls to trade Jarry and sign Nedjelkovic as the long-term solution. Let’s see if these guys have the wheels and the gas left to get that forecheck going again in the third. They can’t play to defend a lead to save their lives.

Mine fits better after Carter scored to go up 5-2.Badger Bob wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:48 pmNot the quote I'm thinking about and not "If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. Fair, but is this really anything different than we've seen from Jarry?largegarlic wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:47 pm Nedjelkovic has been good overall this season, but this is why I can't get behind the calls to trade Jarry and sign Nedjelkovic as the long-term solution. If they get the opportunity to resign him for less money and term, and somehow unload Jarry for something, isn't that still an overall win?

Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Bruins 1/4/24
Pens dominated the first half of the Period but after Jake hit iron they looked like didn't have the same intensity.
Ned having a tough night,2 Goals he can't let in.
Bruins continue to get open looks from the loose coverage in the Pens Defensive Zone.
Sid's Line continues to be generate chances with their skating and zone entries.
Sully better get these guys to not back off and allow the Bruins to have the puck all 3rd Period.

Depends on who else can be obtained to be a tandem with Ned. Ned-Hellburg would be potentially just as mediocre as Jarry-DeSmith.Sigwolf wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:51 pmFair, but is this really anything different than we've seen from Jarry?largegarlic wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:47 pm Nedjelkovic has been good overall this season, but this is why I can't get behind the calls to trade Jarry and sign Nedjelkovic as the long-term solution. Potentially for a fraction of the cost. Not great, still a win.DelPen wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:52 pmDepends on who else can be obtained to be a tandem with Ned. Re: Official GDT: Pens @ Bruins 1/4/24
I don't like Jarry's contract either. I don't think they should have given him that term and cap hit. If we're talking about trading Jarry and signing Nedjelkovic for 2-3 years at $2.5 million per or something, and then finding another Nedjelkovic-esque goalie to be a tandem with him, I could get behind that. But don't give Nedjelkovic a long-term deal just because he's been a bit better than Jarry.Sigwolf wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:51 pmFair, but is this really anything different than we've seen from Jarry?largegarlic wrote: ↑Thu Jan 04, 2024 8:47 pm Nedjelkovic has been good overall this season, but this is why I can't get behind the calls to trade Jarry and sign Nedjelkovic as the long-term solution.
