They should just let Jarry and Ned take shots on the PP

Absolutely clueless.

So this silly 2 power play method basically means that Carter and Eller get the same amount of power play time as Sid and Jake.

Brilliant….

It's painfully obvious that the problem is the coach not the player. No one can make a cogent argument that one of the best offensive D men of this generation suddenly has no idea or ability to effectively play offense upon coming to a team as opposed to an ineffective coaching staff that has numerous demonstrable problems throughout the entire team being the issue.

So when does GMKD pull the trigger and make a move, any move, coaching change, waiving players, trade, unload some players. I mean he keeps watching this same team go out there night after night uninspired, lazy, sloppy almost unwatchable hockey. This is the Pittsburgh MF Penguins! Scoring less than 3 goals per game! Something has to be done! AND SOON!

Detroit won earlier today. Tampa up 2-0 on Columbus. Philly up 2-1 on Seattle. If all these games hold up as they are, the Penguins will be:

--9 points behind Philly for 3rd in the Metro, with 4 games in hand
--10 points behind Tampa for WC1 spot, with 4 games in hand
--9 points behind Detroit for WC2 spot, with 2 games in hand.

This was down around 4-5 points before the ASG break. They stated it at the beginning of the broadcast, but since the Penguins had a 5 game win streak early in the season, they only have one other win streak of 3 games or more. We aren't catching these teams. We aren't going to win out all of our games in hand.

I listened to the GM show the other day. KD said he hopes Sullivan coaches here for years to come. I mean he must be getting fed a corporate agenda with bullet points from FSG.

Simple question to be asked to the coach and KD. How come 90% of the roster is underperforming? It’s coaching baby.

And the only time this PP looked even semi-competent was when the player the Team drafted now buried in WBS was out there as part of it.

Need to move Geno to wing next season. He already doesn’t take any defensive zone face offs.

Assuming he wants to be here next season.

Hey, Rust doing stuff a top line wing should be doing on a regular basis and not just once a month. Cool.

The games in hand talk started back in the middle of January and as we have witnessed it isn't going to make a difference.

I mean, I think you posted back the November the hard statistical fact that based on the record at that point, I think the odds of making the playoffs were like 14%. Those numbers are hard to overcome and it seems to be a continuation of that.

When was that? What counts as semi competent? because even a broken watch is correct twice a day. I haven’t seen a stretch where this PP has looked decent all year! Does anyone have 10 PP points on this team? I thought a stat last night showed Crosby leading the team with like 9 points, and that was after scoring two PPG’s in the first couple of games this season. Face it! The PP has SUCKED all year long, beyond this year really……and they haven’t tried more than a period or two of switching things up. Again! pointing directly at the coaching staff.

Nice work from Rust and EK to get them back in this. The kind of goals that they could use so much more of.

For sure. Need to be more than a 1 line team. EK deserves better too.

Jarry and Neds play has masked so many defensive deficiencies.

Only reason this is a 1 goal game. Jarry is playing solid.

I wonder what is going on at the top. Why in the world do you bring Dubas in if he's being handcuffed by FSG. He's got to be one of the higher paid GMs...why bring him in and then put him in a box to work. My hope is that FSG has said, if you want to fire the coach, or you want to move one of the core, it's not off limits, but we need to have a discussion as to why.

They say history repeats itself, and Sullivan sure seems like things were at the end of the Bylsma era. Nothing is working with any level of consistency. Either the coach is no longer getting through to the team, the assembled players cannot execute the system, some combination of the two....or just a complete clusterF#$%^ of ineptitude.

They did well to push back and tilt the ice a bit toward the Jets' end that period...but they're still down. I'm kind of skeptical that they'll have the energy to push hard enough in the 3rd to get 2 points here.
