Re: Movie
Watched Wolverine: Origins last night, boy do I wish I could get those 2 hours back. They basically did this movie in flashbacks in X2, this movie was hardly about Wolverines origins and more just about him fighting people for no reason. I had high hopes for this, but it's like they put this thing together in 10 days and said oh well. You learn more about the background of Wolverine in the opening credits than you do the rest of the movie. What a disaster and basically watered down version of the Wolverine storyline in the other X Men movies. I will say there were a few decent parts that seemed interesting, but storyline takes a backseat to action, it seemed like the movie contradicted itself over and over and over.... anyone like this steaming pile of...?

Crap. I was going to watch it this weekend and was pretty pumped. I heard the same thing from a few others. I'm still going to watch it though.eddysnake wrote:Watched Wolverine: Origins last night, boy do I wish I could get those 2 hours back. The Wolverine story line is so complex, it's hard to fit into a 2 hour movie, so I was fully prepared for the water downed version, but if it's just a bunch of cool action scenes and no substance, then I'll be a little disappointed.

Re: Movie
Just watched State of Play this weekend.....solid movie. If you like conspiracy movies, you will like this one. It definitely had a bit of a "progressive" bent to it, but I didn't mind that at all. Solid performances by both Affleck and Crowe.

Re: Movie
I watched a small piece of Blood Diamond yesterday while I was working. DiCaprio's accent was terrible. His character was from Africa and while he had it nailed for short lines, if the sentence went on for 7+ words it started turning into an Australian/Scottish accent. The longer he talked at one time, the worse it got.

Re: Movie
If you are a fan of Wolverine and the story, then you probably won't like this. You really don't learn anything new about Wolverine that they didn't tell you in the other movies and if you think about it at the end, the movie really doesn't make sense.newarenanow wrote:Crap. that is exactly what it is, prepare to be disappointed. I was reading that Zack Snyder wanted to do the movie, but make it R and true to the story, but Jackman wanted it PG13....but if it's just a bunch of cool action scenes and no substance, then I'll be a little disappointed

Both solid...The Mist was very underrated.shmenguin wrote:just watched The Mist...crap, that's an f'd up movie.
watched the wrestler the other day. also messed up, but really poignant too.
Ever seen Requiem of a Dream? One of Aronofsky's originals, before he made it big. I almost entered therapy after seeing that movie....talk about stunned.

Re: Movie
you are not kidding, really f'd up, I want to say I loved it, but I don't know you say you love that movie... it's really refreshing getting to watch a non-hollywood movie. Did you watch the black & white version or color, I hear the B&W does the movie even more justice. I love the whole portal to another world story, but details are kept slim, keeps you wondering!shmenguin wrote:just watched The Mist...crap, that's an f'd up movie.

Not one of those movies where two years later, you go: "Hey guys!! Let's get a 12 pack and watch Requiem of a Dream again!!!"Idoit40fans wrote:I own Requiem, but I don't think I can watch it again.

Anyone ever see Mulholland Dr.? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0166924/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I watched that in college with my roommates. It was probably the first time I ever had to use the internet to find out what happened in a movie because I didn't understand anything that was going on in the movie.

Re: Movie
If you thought that was strange, check out some of his (David Lynch) other movies. Sometimes they are too out there to even get through, but they are intersting to say the least. He has a blog that is pretty good too. I enjoyed the hell out of Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet!bhaw wrote:Anyone ever see Mulholland Dr.? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0166924/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Oh, Mulholland Dr that movie annoying me so much. I like lynch, but a movie doesn't need a 10 step program. I don't think anyone understands what is happening.bhaw wrote:Anyone ever see Mulholland Dr.? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0166924/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
