The new one is GREAT! The older one is also good "United".

Re: Let's talk about music
The other one is ok too...i like the song napoleon says, i think long distance calls was like the "hit" on that album, but i never really liked that song at all.wallflower wrote:I had never heard them before but watching a few of their videos on YouTube, I'm thinking they're definitely something I'd like a lot. They have a few albums, which one would you (or anyone else who likes them) suggest I start with?tperko wrote:phoenix is unreal.
FUNKY SQUAREDANCE!!!! I like the new album a lot also! Phoenix is probably my favorite "new" band lately...

Is anyone into Black Mountain...i think they're ok but i'm liking the two recent side projects from members of the band: Pink Mountaintops & Lightning Dust...the song execution from Pink Mountaintops is awesome.

"United" is very good, with "Too Young" being my favorite song, "Alphabetical" is so-so, "It's Never Been Like That" is another excellent album. "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix" is their best, imho.tperko wrote:The new one is GREAT! The older one is also good "United".

Let's talk about this gem of a song.

1:20 to about 1:35 just makes the song for me.
I like him more in this video, though.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who recommended Phoenix. I'm still working my way through their discography (backwards
) but I really love everything I've heard so far.

This could be of interest to some: The Feelies "Crazy Rhtyhms" and "The Good Earth" have finally been reissued.

I actually heard somebody playing this in the car beside me today while waiting at a light. Probably one of my favorite cover songs.

Re: Let's talk about music
I can't see the youtube link...I'm curious as to what your referring to?
I just downloaded the new Weezer album...i'm afraid to listen to it though.
I've recently got a few albums that i'm really into:
Julian Casablancas - Phrazes for the Young
Surfer Blood - Astrocoast
Sleeping in the Aviary - (weird gross name, not worth repeating)

Saw the Get Up Kids Saturday night...amazing show. They really looked happy to be back touring and playing music together...pretty good set list, as well.

So, Steven Tyler has quit Aerosmith to pursue a solo career...
...What?
Strangest "career" move of all time.

I won't admit to buying some awful dance compilation CD just so I could hear that song.

Re: Let's talk about music
Now the new Aerosmith album with their new singer and Tyler's solo albums will both be utter trainwrecks. Looking forward to it. On that note...new Fear Factory!
