BIG ERIC T.

Post by Mikeys66ers »

Anyone know what is going on with him. We all have high hopes for him to be lw on Crosby's line, but only 3 games and 1 point? Anyone in wbs got any info?

Sounds like he is almost ready to play. Sure hope he lights it up when he gets back because no one else is. The Pens need some quality call ups for injuries.

This. Caputi hasn't made Shero rethink sending him down yet, that's for sure. I think he might actually be playing tonight. Looks like he's on the score sheet as active.

Anyone see him play? If so, how is he looking? I see goose eggs on the score card for him.
Five games and 1 point, yikes! At least he doesn't have any penalty minutes either.

He got his first professional goal last night in a 6-1 win against portland. Congrats to him as well as Strait n Sill with their first pro goals.

Uh-oh. Could be another injury. I doubt he'd be called up... if they're looking for a winger of his type it'd be Caputi. hrm.

Well, Tangradi has the flu.

Bayda left the arena on crutches.

Boogaard left the game and didn't return.

Vellieux left the game with an arm injury, JB said it looked serious.

It's the curse of Chris Conner... When he was up here it was when all our injuries happened too. (Except for Gogo)

Neither, he's a rookie. If you expected him to come in and score 30 goals you're mistaken. He needs to develop and adjust to the pro game much like Caputi did last season

And points per game don't get you into the NHL for example Pesonen last year

And Bourque this year? I get your point, scoring in the AHL don't mean much, but he was suppose to come in and be Sids wing according to half the posters here. I just thought he would be lighting it up more then he is. Usually the highest scorers are the ones that get called up.

Pesonen was penciled into the first line before last season started by half the posters here, so I really wouldn't put too much stock into that. Adjusting to the pro game is definitely a big deal -- also, and especially for a power forward, playing with a center who can get the puck to the net is important too (look how many chances ET got playing with Sid in preseason). Letestu missed some of the season, and Smith isn't exactly a playmaker-extraordinaire. Jeffrey is playing wing recently. Anyways, yes, if the Pens need a call-up on wing, Caputi, at least the first time, is gonna be the man.

Five more games with zero points. Nine points in 24 games. This seems like more then adjustment to the pro game to me. :? I might be totally wrong, but it seems like there is something going on with him.

He's been playing on the third line in more of a checking role.. kind of like Jeffrey last season excluding the PK

Also, he was injuries most of the offseason (hand slicing) then injured again at the beginning of the season (shoulder?). That's bound to stunt anyone's progress at least a little.

I expect one guy to be up next year (of Caputi, Jeffery, and the Test Tub) so that opens some playing to for Big ET. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him catch fire later in the year, hopefully for their playoffs (if they make it).

Thanks, that probably explains it, at least I hope so. Like to see this big guy catch fire. We could use his skill and big body.
