Question... am I insane for liking Final Fantasy V better than IV and feeling like VI is not a "true" FF game?

You are insane for thinking VI isn't a "true" Final Fantasy game...what is your logic behind that?

Seems that there are only 2 models, one 20GB and one 60GB, that feature full hardware support for PS2 games. The model to get from what I read is the 60GB, CECHA01. There are a lot of them for sale on ebay. Used or refurbished of course, for around $250-350. One guy is selling a new one for $800 - that's crazy since you can get both PS3 and PS2 separately for half that.

I'll think about it and maybe get one. Still not sure if I should go PS3 or XBOX, though, but I'm leaning PS3.

Any new mini Ps3 does not have BC but they suspose to release games on the PSN sooner or later.

perhaps not the best word... however, it feels like a bunch of other games jammed into a somewhat FF setting to me. You have stuff like the Blitz techniques that require Street Fighter 2 moves to use... the opera debacle... tossing dried meat to a boy roaming with monsters... the game itself feels way overdone to me... whatever happened to just going around and kicking some monster ass and restoring some crystals to save the world?

I didn't know what PSN is, so I googled it along with PS2 games and it took me to a thread that suggested that may be the case - PS2 games for d/l - however that thread is 1.5 years old. I think I'd rather just get the CECHA01. As I said, I must play Drakan 2 one of these days and I'm sure there are some other good games out for PS2.

i didnt like VI either. however, picking V over IV requires an explanation.

The main thing I really like that sets V apart from the other games is the job system. I really like the fact that you can create 4 characters that are pretty much whatever you want them to be. Beyond that, the music is fantastic. The only thing I really don't like is that there are probably too many scripted scenes.

IV is also a very good game. Its story is better than V, but does not have that unique factor with the jobs. there are also a couple things it includes which are major pet peeves of mine... there are many battles throughout the game where you are supposed to lose. This has long been an annoyance of mine... I guess I don't feel that you need to waste time having a battle that cannot be won to prove that your level 10 character is not ready to take on the "big boss guy". I also felt like there were too many "he's not quite dead" moments for my liking.

In regards to VI though, it isn't that I don't like it... I just feel that some of the elements they added take it from being a traditional RPG into a different realm. I can certainly understand if people enjoy this, but I guess I am a simpleton when it comes to my FF games and I like the tried and true approach of the earlier games.

nah, makes perfect sense. i had forgotten about V's job system, havent played it in forever. maybe IV is just a personal favorite of mine since it was the first one i played. i do remember being a little traumatized at the pirate characters "secret". that moment still ranks up there with

I didn't play a lot of these games back in the day so I am just getting around to it now... I wish I had played them then though because they lack the nostalgia factor I have with the first game.

Sounds like a good idea, but I don't trust Sony and I'm not going to wait indefinitely. Is the thing up yet at all? If yes, can you check if Drakan's available?

Dude...disagree.

Kefka was Final Fantasy's version of the Joker. Just a freaking psychopath that wanted to do nothing but destroy the world. Sephiroth, although BA, was just a whiny little emo mama's boy, in the end.

I didn't honestly think that anyone thought VI wasn't that good. In my eyes, it's the best one out there. Though, I'm also in the minority that loves IX and hates VIII.

I do think Tactics is the best Final Fantasy game out there...but, it's not in the main series...

To All Assassin's Creed II Players

This info is helpful

VERY MINOR Spoiler
Spoiler:
Whenever I get to a new area, I always clear all the available viewpoints first. It just makes playing in that area easier and it gives you a better knowledge of the land.

When you get to Venice for the first time there is a viewpoint (at least 1) that you are not able to climb. I spent an hour trying everything possible with no luck.

After searching for answers I found out that you have to proceed with the next mission in order to learn a new kind of skill that will allow you to climb buildings with higher grab points.
I thought this would be helpful as I was worried that it was a glitch.

I am totally loving this game. So much to do and the story is just so darn interesting!

Enjoy!!

I've been hooked on Super Mario Bros wii for the past few days. I like how it's a revamped 2D version.

I like it. It's like the original NES game with a lot of cool added features. A nice thing about it is the multiplayer. So you can play with 4 other people at a time.

4 player is so much fun. We played yesterday with my fiance, and a buddy and his girl. Half of the time was spent playing, the other half was trying to pick up the girls and throw them to their deaths before they could bubble :pop:

LOTS of fun

lol...I found the Mario Bros. Wii multiplayer completely ridiculous. Basically, I just spent the entire time running as fast as I could to try and make everyone else fall off the map.

I beat Dragon Age this weekend. Then I was an idiot and started replaying Mass Effect (this time the superior PC version) so I can have a PC saved game for ME2 since it will use your old saves.

I'm working on ACII and MW2 on the side. ACII is pretty good but I get stuck trying to finish everything which sometimes gets boring.
