LOL, poor Jericho. It sounds like he's essentially getting dragged into this because The Hurricane went bonkers and hit some people, including Jericho himself.shafnutz05 wrote:

Re: The new Monday night war...
On my way to my buddy's house to watch the Rumble.......who you got?
I think HBK is too obvious, therefore it won't happen. They'll make HBK/Taker II happen somehow.
They keep saying Triple H/Sheamus is the probable WWE Title match at Mania. Please god tell me Triple H isn't going to win the Rumble (although if I had to bet on it, this would be my bet).
What would I like to see happen? I'd like to see Orton beat Sheamus, since everyone seems to think that Legacy will cost Orton the match, thus starting a feud in the group. If Orton does indeed beat Sheamus, I'd love to see DiBiase be the biggest surprise Rumble winner ever. No one would really think it would actually happen......but what a great way to start a feud between those two. You could drag it out over a couple weeks, Randy trying to convince Ted to go for the Heavyweight Title on Smackdown, kind of like they did with Batista/Triple H a few years ago when Batista won the Rumble. Then eventually have Ted challenge Randy for his belt at Mania........if he can put up the quality matches, easy building of a new star.
I would love to see The Miz win.......but that will never happen. He's not ready, even though he's the most entertaining part of Raw.

I dunno, this is gonna be the hardest Rumble to call... maybe there will be some kind of thing where both guys feet touch the floor like what happened when Hart/Luger did that years ago.

The Miz is so close to being a main event star, but like you said, he's not there yet. The slow build with Miz has been really fun to watch over the last couple of years and he is, bar none, the best on the mic right now.
As for the Rumble match, I'd like to see CM Punk win. He's been on a roll lately with his Straight Edge cult thing. I don't really see this happening, though.
The final four will likely be HHH, Shawn Michaels, Batista, and Cena. I'm going to say Cena wins. (I know, way to go out on a limb.)
Slightly illegal side note: Anyone know of a good place to watch online? PM me. Thanks.

Well, I was almost right on the final four. Who knew Edge would be back?
The matches leading up to the Rumble were pretty horrible. Luckily, the Rumble was awesome. Punk had a great run at the beginning. HBK's super kick to eliminate HHH was awesome and unexpected so early in the match. I'm so glad Edge is back. I hope he returns to Smackdown.

My money is on HBK costing Undertaker the title at some point so he's able to face him at WM.SolidSnake wrote:Edge vs Sheamus then? since he and the Taker fought at Wrestlemania a few years ago.

That would be my guess....SolidSnake wrote:Edge vs Sheamus then? since he and the Taker fought at Wrestlemania a few years ago.
At some point, UT will lose the title and they will set up the Taker vs. Michaels rematch. or they will break up DX and move Michaels to smackdown.
Doesn't the draft happen soon?

I would hope so. But with it being such a money maker, I sort of doubt it. Not too many wrestlers sell merch like Cena and DX.Kicksave wrote:Is DX breaking up then?
That said, though, it does seem to be the start of a Michael's heel turn, which would likely happen if he is going to take on Undertaker at WM.

Edge = all sorts of awesome!
The undercard was pretty bad, but the rumble itself was one of the better in recent years. CM Punk was awesome(as always), and the pace was overall pretty good. I marked when Edge's music hit, I won't lie.
I really hope MIchaels does end up going heel. DX ran its course about 10 years ago, Michaels is so much better playing a *****bag heel.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
OK so that was fun. My friends and I had a theory that I really think is true though. Triple H definitely got injured during the Rumble......you could see him visibly limping after it happened, and there was no point for him to be kayfabe selling an injury there. We literally think he was supposed to win, then on the fly told HBK to eliminate him early because he couldn't go anymore. There's no way Triple H was going out before the final 4 unless he was hurt. Edge was a last second replacement to win. That doesn't mean Edge wasn't planned to be in it. I had heard that there was a good chance he would come back, but be so enraged with Jericho that he would eliminate Y2J and like jump over the top rope on him or something eliminating himself. Once Triple H went out, they decided to have Edge win. Either way I liked it, since I didn't see anyone besides HHH or HBK (or maybe Batista) winning.
The thing now that kind of stinks is I think this makes the outcome of Elimination Chamber obvious. HBK is going to screw Taker somehow during his title match to make him angry enough to fight him, and I would be willing to bet any money that Jericho ends up winning the WHC at that show. That way they can still set up HBK/Taker and Edge/Jericho at Mania.
My projected WM card:
HBK/Taker
Edge/Jericho (WHC)
Triple H/Sheamus (WWE Title......if HHH is healthy)
Cena/Batista (although if HHH is injured.....they'll probably thrown Sheamus with Cena, maybe make this a triple threat. if not I have no clue what they'll do with Sheamus)
Hart/McMahon (street fight)
Orton/DiBiase/Rhodes (triple threat)
CM Punk/Mysterio (for some reason people keep rumoring this will be a hair vs. mask match, thats the only reason im putting it)
MITB (Morrison, Miz, McIntyre, MVP, Swagger, Bourne, Kofi, Ziggler)
Christian/Yoshi Tatsu (ECW Title)
Please only 1 Divas match
And really, if that's the lineup, I like it a lot. HBK/Taker and Edge/Jericho will be fantastic matches. They also have a great crop of guys for MITB this year (I think Miz has to take it though......him doing promos with that briefcase all year will be classic).

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
That was the best Raw of the year. (edit: I meant in the last 12 months, not 2010)
Random thoughts:
I love how they're booking HBK on this downward spiral until he snaps.
The Orton/DiBiase feud is defintely starting with a bang at EC. And speaking of EC, I have absolutely no idea who is walking out of that thing with the belt. I don't think its Cena because he's definitely getting involved with Hart/McMahon/Batista, but other than that all bets are off.
The McMahon/Hart promo was sick. It's amazing how Bret hasn't lost a step, and Vinny Mac was at his absolute finest on the mic. I would plop down $50 to see them in a hot dog eating contest after that. I was stunned when Batista came out. The timing was absolutely perfect with Hart about to put McMahon in the Sharpshooter. I was marking out like i was 10 years old agin. Great booking. Looks like they are indeed too old to go head to head at 'Mania, so my guess is we're getting either a tag team Batista/McMahon vs. Hart/Cena or just Batista/Cena with those two in the respective corners.
Also, one last note, I thought they used Shattner in a fantastic way. That's how they need to use guest hosts if they insist on keeping this gimmick up. Use them for like 15 minutes total (didn't hurt that he was hilarious).

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
You know, after Cena basically forced Vince to invite Bret back to RAW, you'd think he'd give the dude a hand when he's getting the crap kicked out of him.
It actually kind of bums me out seeing Bret out there, being all sorts of old, feuding with an all sorts of old Vince. They have great young talent and yet we're getting something we all wanted to see in 1997. Watching Bret trying to sell Batista's punches was incredibly depressing. I don't want to remember Bret like this.
I was excited for Bret to return but in retrospect, once was enough. There's no need for this to go on until March. The crowd was incredibly flat for that last segment. It's clear that the new fans really have no idea who Bret is (or, I guess I should say was).
I know it's inevitable that he gets in the ring at Mania, but that's the last thing I want to see. Who wants to see the Excellence of Execution have to resort to nothing but punches and maybe a few kicks. (Basically, a Big Show match) Maybe instead of watching Bret/Cena v. Vince/Batista, I'll watch Bret win the Intercontinental belt from Mr. Perfect or the Bret v. Shawn Michaels first ever WWF ladder match.
Also, completely unrelated, I'm obsessed with this guy's celebrity photo album. http://www.markfauser.com/celebrity/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
