They are NOT rock and roll. I watched them on SNL and those songs are even worse live. You got no melody, no gritty edge, just overdone distortion and some college brats jumping around and then you here the singer and it's like if I were there friend I would honestly tell them to give it up.
Sadly they are typical of the crap that is being past off for rock these days and it is very lame. Nevermind the look or the jumping around (although I never knew lameness could make somone excited?) it is their sound that is bad. I heard them on the radio and I was like meh but after hearing it live its like MEH??

My daughter (she just turned 14) LOVES FOB ... It started with Simple Plan, Good Charlotte & My Chemical Romance which I like..but FOB,
All American Rejects, the Used, Story of the Year , etc. not so much..seems like there is a new group every week & they all sound the same.. bad .. now she wants to go to the Warped Tour ...with friends..
no adults .. don't think so ..

I just seen a video from The Used and now the All American Retards and all I can tell you is that I really feel sorry for anoyone who is forced to listen to this mainstream garbage. Is it any wonder the Wierd Al has run out of bands to make fun of? They are already a joke!
It really sucks that all the trully talented artist appear to have tormented souls. I rememebr when socioty (MTV) was feeding me non-stop Tears for Queers and Duron Duran all day. It was almost as bad as this stuff but at least there are some brilliant underground bands happening right now.

What do I consider good? Hmmmm....
Led Zeppelin, Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, Rush, The Police, Clutch, Fugazi, Minor Threat, Black Sabbath, Q and Not U, The Faint, Akimbo, Early Man, Hot Water Music, Tool, 16, Cave In, Coalsce, Converge, Alabama Thunderpussy, Dysrhythmia, Don Caballero, Battles, Pelican, Rosetta, Torche, Kylesa, Dillinger Escape Plan, Pig Destroyer, Dead Meadow, Black Eyes, The Black Keys, Lightning Bolt, Stellastarr, Interpol, Sondre Lerche, The Jesus Lizard, The Mooney Suzuki, The Cranberries, Big Business, Karp, The Minor Times, Navies, ACDC, New Order, Joy Division, Wu-Tang Clan, ODB.....
to name a few.
I take issue with Saves the Day for a number of reasons.
1) Had the misfortune of seeing them in concert a while back. Dudes could barely play their instruments, while the lead singer whined away on stage.
2) Nobody would have ever heard of this band if it weren't for the rise of mall-punk.
3) Their recorded stuff is what it is: mainstream emo in the form of Hawthorne Heights etc etc. It's essentially targeted at 13 year old girls.

Ever hear of Roof Salad, Mouth Ropper, Sister Saint Sin, Index of Death, Hallow Point, Distortion Dialect, Liverdrool, Hopeless, Soccer Bums, Fenced in Bed, Fathers Favorite, Corpse Bride, Hammer Toe, Liqourice Death, or Dog Motor Kill Drum??Bring Back KC wrote:What do I consider good? Hmmmm....

Grind is my forte'. Had the pleasure of seeing pxdx last year just before terrifyer came out. truely the most brutal band of all time.
if you like that, take a gander at the "tony danza tapdance extravaganza"
really good grind with some converge-ish technical aspects.
