I haven't seen it but my opinion would be to just stick to reading Tucker Max. I doubt his over the top antics translate well to film.

Maybe I am in the minority, but I find Tucker Max to be an obnoxious, arrogant A-hole and I hope one day he finds his karmic retribution in a bad, bad way. I know most males my age think he is a folk hero, but I just think he is a jerkoff.

I thought the movie was very intense, good acting, but towards the end it kind of went off into a different story that didn't really make much sense.

Plan on watching Che (Benicio Del Toro) tonight, didn't really hear much about it, but Steven Soderbergh directed it, and I'm a fan of his. It's 4.5 hours, so it's gonna be a long night if it's any good. Anyone seen it yet?

I don't think that is too much of a spoiler! But it's supposed to cover his entire life starting out being a dr in argentina? and it sounds pretty interesting. I don't think the movie has a political stance, which makes it a little more appealing to me

Casey Affleck gave me chills in it, he was excellent. I loved the cinematography as well, anything Roger Deakins does is amazing, I'm glad he works with the coen brothers! He has an amazing resume

I watched 4.5 hours of the delightful communitst Che last night. The movie is really not about Che, contrary to the title. The first half is about the military tactics used in the armed struggle to remove Batista from Cuba, it was actually really interesting. The second half dealt with Che continuing to "revolutionize" latin america, and his failed attempts in Bolivia. It's pretty remarkable that he gave up all the power and wealth in Cuba and continued on with his mission, it was interesting to see Fidel living it up in high society while he went back to the jungles of other countries. I didn't really know too much about Che before watching it, and I really don't know too much about him after watching it. They point out he loved Americans just not our government (sounds like a lot of people on here!), had no problems with religion, but did everything for mankind, if anything I learned that he wanted to revolutionize Latin America, but should've probably checked with the people to see if they wanted it first! Definately check out the Criterion copies, the RED HD camera used to film this made for an amazing transfer, gorgous cinematography and locations, oh and it's all in Spanish.

I am sure the Che movie was good, but I am curious about one thing. How much (if any) did the film cover the more sadistic side of Guevara? He was known to execute peasants/comrades who expressed a desire to not join the cause. One thing that is very much forgotten about Che is his more brutal side....he murdered a lot of people during his runs through the jungle.

No questions about it, the guy was a murderer, which is strange why that silly shirt is such a big hit, it's like wearing a hitler shirt? The movie did show that side, but I thought focused more on his compassionate side (he wouldn't let people fight if they didn't know how to read and ride, didn't want young kids, etc...). They showed his speeches in NY at the UN, which was interesting, but it felt almost like a history channel show on the Cuban and Bolivian Revolution. Like I said earlier, the movie didn't really seem to be about him so much as the tactics used in the revolutions, so they really didn't focus on his actions so much as the guerillas as a whole, but you do understand that he did execute people and in the end, it came back to him. If anything, it got me more interested in the whole politcal side to the Cuban Revolution

Yeah I would be interested to see that....I admittedly do not know a LOT about Guevara, but he was definitely a heck of an interesting historical figure.

definately is, it was interesting to see Bolivia ask the US and CIA for help in going after Che. The first half sets up Che as becoming a successful political figure throughout the world, which really works for the 2nd half of the movie. I guess a lot of people found it to be anti US and pro communist, but I didn't think it leaned one way or another, felt like a true documentary. I think, you being very political would enjoy it as long as you can find the time to watch it. It was also all independently financed and I don't think it was even released in the US, so I was impressed with the outcome based on that. I should add it's all based from his POV, so that's probably why you don't feel like it's a biopic about him, but more on his actions at the time, and it's based on his diaries.

Watched the devil's rejects again...that's a really good movie. I wish they'd do a prequal with those characters, but zombie's wife apparently ages 10-12 years between movies
