Re: Movie
Did any of you see The Day The Earth Stood Still with what's his face? Um. Keanu Reeves. Worst movie of the decade. Every single thing went wrong in it. Even Jennifer Connelly, the goddess herself, couldn't help it. I mean, it is a disaster on every level, from the acting, to the cast, to the story (which maybe made sense 50 years ago, but certainly doesn't apply in this day and age), to the special effects. Only good thing was the big robot, but there was so little of it, it didn't really matter.

Re: Movie
Completely agree, the original is so awesome, couldn't they just let it be. I wanted to throw up on my tv after watching the new one.Sarcastic wrote:Did any of you see The Day The Earth Stood Still with what's his face? Um. Keanu Reeves. Worst movie of the decade. Re: Movie
since I'm likely stranded at work all weekend, I brought a few movies to pass the time. I'm watching Transformers:The Movie right now. After that, I'll either run through Clerks:The animated series or Troll 2. not sure which yet...

Re: Movie
Troll 2 isn't so much a horror movie, as it is the pinnacle of post-modern surrealism.

Re: Movie
Interesting experience at the movie theater today. I was super excited to see Frozen. We got there with about 10 minutes until show time and were the only ones in the theater. Once the film started, some individual costumers entered. Then, about fifteen minutes in, the dreaded couple with a baby stroll in.
The baby was sporadically crying throughout the movie and eventually, when it burst out screaming at one of the most intense parts of the flick, we give the family the old side-eyed "will you PLEASE shut that baby up" look. This didn't go over well. The woman screamed, "If you have a problem, you can see the manager." When my buddy responded, "We just think it's a little inappropriate to have a crying baby in a movie," her husband stood up, faced us, and got in our face saying, "You don't speak that way to my wife, I'll <<expletive deleted>> you up." This went on for about 5 seconds. Him threatening us, us telling him to relax, and so on... Finally he sat down and I told my buddy not to worry about it, it's not worth it.
About 10 minutes later, he turned to me and said we either talk to the manager, or this guy wants to fight us after the movie. I agree so we go out and talk to the manager, tell him all we want is a readmission pass to finish the movie at a later date. Hopefully to a screening that doesn't include a crying baby and a psycho husband.
Once we leave, we call the theater back asking for free tickets for a future show (we never got our money back, just passes to get back in to a later screening). The guy agrees and informs us that the couple was thrown out right after we left.
I was physically threatened for the first time since 7th grade. I was glad to see the response was still the same: flight.

Re: Movie
You certainly did the right thing. I use to get into a lot of altercations when I was younger, but have calmed down quite a bit. I wonder how I would react now? Most likely, I would have gotten beat up and sent to the hospital or stabbed him in the eye with anything available and thrown in jail. Neither option is particularly satisfying, as the end location is not me at home drinking beer.nocera wrote:(story)
That's another option.Idoit40fans wrote:I would have contracted hepatitis and then spat in his mouth.

Re: Movie
Actually, yes. The first 20 minutes or so aren't so great, but once they get stuck, it's really fun and tense. This is what frustrated me the most about the whole situation. I was actually digging the movie.Letang Is The Truth wrote:did you like the part of frozen that you saw>?
