I guess I can answer my own question. Apparently he showed up in Wheeling and was a recent callup to WBS along with Tim Wallace. They didn't look lost out there. Both guys got goals tonight. Wallace had an assist too on Jensens goal.

What was the deal with him? Didn't he go MIA for a while?

Yep, and there has never been a public explanation, but WBS coach Richards said that he had a talk with Jensen about it when they were going to call him up, and obviously they don't have any problems now.

That Jensen-McLean-Wallace line (just called up) is playing really well. Looks like they're excited to be in the AHL.

This story is all I could find on it. Not much in the way of an explanation though.

Well Easton they were a major reason the team won last night against the Wolfpack. Not saying anyone here is NHL ready, but in a chippy game they were a bright spot.

Absolutely, I was watching the game online. It seemed like the Carcillo-Dixon-James and Jensen-McLean-Wallace line were the 2 best, although Filly's 2 goals are always welcome too.

Easton, how has James looked? Is he worthy of a call up if we'd need him?

I would say no. It's tough to say which role he would fill. Last year, he was an AHL teams' (Manchester Monarchs) leading scorer when called up to the NHL. This year, he's on the WBS shut-down line and has shown almost no signs of that scoring touch. Right now, 3 of WBS' d-men have scored more than him. James is a very disciplined and smart hockey player, probably why he plays more than 1 role well. He only has 2 PIMs all year so far. The downside is that he is very small. He's listed at 5-10, 190. I'm 5-11 and I can tell you that, with skates on, he looks smaller than me. I would guess 5-8, 165-170 is more accurate without skates.

If you're looking for scoring, Filewich may be the only Pittsburgh prospect in WBS worth looking at. If it is a defensive role, then Carcillo would be the next call-up. But, James hasn't shown anything that would jump him ahead of those 2.
