Apparently McMahon was on ECW tonight and said that it will be closing down shop in 3 weeks. Thank God.........the 'new' ECW was an abomination.

I didn't think it's been bad. It was way worse when it was still trying to be ECW. Ever since it turned into a developmental brand, I kind of dug it. It was never going to be ECW.steve784 wrote:Apparently McMahon was on ECW tonight and said that it will be closing down shop in 3 weeks. Thank God.........the 'new' ECW was an abomination.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
After Raw went off the air Cena came out. McMahon and roidesta ran out of the ring. I guess they dont want to push this story line too fast leading up to Mania IMO. With Bret not being able to really take a bump due to the stroke I see this leading in to a Trump/McMahon thing again where Bret chooses Cena and Vince chooses roidesta.

Yeah I guess I was kind of harsh.......I was just really tired of it being some variation of Christian/Regal/Jackson/Kozlov in a main event every week. I'm psyched that this means Christian is headed to a big show.nocera wrote:I didn't think it's been bad. It was way worse when it was still trying to be ECW. Elimination Chamber PPV was tonight.
Cena won the WWE title on to lose it immediately to Batista in an impromptu match announced by Vince.
Jericho won the World Heavyweight Championship after HBK snuck into the ring and superkicked the Undertaker.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
I don't get it, Cena/Batista was a big enough match especially with the Hart/McMahon thing, didnt need the belt too.
Also, I read Money In The Bank is now its own PPV in the summer, so I'm assuming that means it won't be at Mania, that's disappointing.

Yup. He's been involved in the Vince/Bret thing anyway, so it makes sense for him to be on RAW.SolidSnake wrote:So Batista to raw now?nocera wrote:Elimination Chamber PPV was tonight.

In an ironic twist, Undertaker was burned by his pyro during his entrance.
At the :49 second mark

I'm guessing it was Kane finally getting his revenge.

He lost the title. It'll be interesting to see what role he's given on RAW tonight. I hope he's not a flash in the pan. While I do think he was given the title too quickly, I also believe that he has a lot of potential and should be a top heel.Kicksave wrote:is the Shamus experiment over yet?

I think the only reason I like him is because there's so much heat over him getting the belt so quickly.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Looks like we got Taker/HBK, Edge/Jericho, Cena/Batista and the MITB (Christian first confirmed participant..........who else you guys think? If i remember right there were 8 last year, so I'm thinking Christian, Morrison, McIntyre, Miz, Kingston, R-Truth, MVP and maybe Yoshi or Bourne) match confirmed for 'Mania, as expected. Interesting spin on the main event though with HBK's career on the line. This really adds an element of mystery to what's going to happen in that match. Obviously retirements mean nothing in wrestling, but is HBK ready to 'end' his career?
Also, I'm pretty psyched to see this NXT show.

What'd you think?
The format is going to take some getting used to. A worked "reality" show just seems weird to me. I was a huge fan of Tough Enough (when it was on MTV) so I was hoping for something along those lines.
This was my first real exposure to Bryan Danielson, and the dude bored the hell out of me. The Miz completely overshadowed him every time the two were on screen together. His smiling babyface, shake-your-hand, good sport routine is so Bob Backlund. His look is bland. He had a pretty okay match with Jericho, filled with botches. That bump into the table was rough and I wondered if Jericho did that purposefully after Danielson nearly tore his leg off. Jericho was pretty stiff with Danielson, enough to make it seem like he was trying to put him in his place. This match actually made me question how much of this show was a work, which, I'm sure, is exactly what WWE wants.
That David Utunga/Darren Young match was god awful.
I really dig the low camera angle. It gives the show a completely unique look.
Seeing these "rookies" perform, you realize just how good the WWE crop is, both in the ring and on the mic. It'll be interesting to see how this progresses.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
bet you the Taker/HBK match ends in a 10-count for both guys. They'll beat the piss out of eachother for about 20 minutes then both get knocked out and get counted outsteve784 wrote:Looks like we got Taker/HBK, Edge/Jericho, Cena/Batista and the MITB (Christian first confirmed participant..........who else you guys think? noone wins..noone loses. Streak and Career both continued. Then the next PPV, theyll have some insane Coffin Match or something
