yeah, the battle of Helms Deep is pretty sweet... Although TTT is actually my least favorite of the 3 movies, it is actually the one most enhanced by the Extended Edition, IMO.

Over the course of the weekend, I watched all 3 extended editions of LOTR for the first time in a long time. Though my distaste for a few scenes remains, it was fun to watch them again. :thumb:
I'm going through the theatrical versions now. I've watched the extended cuts so much that it's weird watching the theatrical cuts. I find myself missing the extended scenes and wishing the films were longer.

Yeah, it really feels like stuff is "missing". Then again, if you're really into the movie, an extra 30 minutes isn't really that big of a deal.

LOTR was too long and the character were too uninteresting.

I enjoyed it to a point, not really a big fantasy fan, unless we're talking Cheerleaders :pop: But some of the battle scenes were sick.

I liked it...but it reminds me of one segment on the aziz ansari cd, in the R. Kelly skit he's like you can't just play a video of you and your boys playing b-ball and not address why you played that video...you got to explain tha ****...that **** was weird.

you can't have some nameless hobo keep attacking the main character and not address it at some point...you gotta explain why that hobo does that, or he's imagining the hobo...you gotta expalin that ****, that **** is weird!!!!

I was intrigued by the trailers, but cooled on it when it got slammed so hard by the critics. So add to the list?

I thought it was really good. I held off because of the reviews, but to each their own I guess. It was an awesome rent.

I loved it. Very interesting on how someone could know so many ways to kill a person without being there.

Not one of those movies where two years later, you go: "Hey guys!! Let's get a 12 pack and watch Requiem of a Dream again!!!"
Hahaha, yes, this is true. I just finally watched it -- don't plan on putting it on again anytime soon. I thought the acting was decent, except for Ellen Burstyn who was great -- I couldn't bring myself to look at her at some points because she looked so creepy. The way the movie was done was fairly disturbing and intense. When I saw the genre listed on IMDB as "drama," and people talking about how sad it made them feel, I excepted a more slower paced affair. For me the genre was closer to thriller and horror. Didn't feel sad (or sweaty) or anything when it ended... relief was probably the best word to describe how I felt, haha.

I mean, it was well done, for sure, but not an essential movie that any film buff needs to see like many tout it to be IMO.

I like to watch Requiem with people who have not seen it before and watch their faces during the final 10 or so minute climax with Lux Aeterna playing. Of course sometimes I find myself so pulled in by the end that I forget to do that. I still remember the first time I saw it, I was so griped by the end that I probably sat there gripping the couch with my sweaty palms. Ellen Burstyn is definitely fantastic and I think Marlon Wayans is pretty impressive given what you'd expect out of him. Connolly and Leto are pretty damn good themselves. As always with Aronofsky/Mansell, the score is awesome.

I was surprised how forgettable the score in The Wrestler was, although I watched late at night with the sound down and haven't seen it since, its just that the music usually jumps out in DA's films.

That movie was not at all what I was expecting. It was good, but like you said nothing special.

Watched the last half of Transformers 2. I hated it in the theater and hated it even more on blu-ray.

One of my ex's wouldn't shut-up about that movie. Thankfully, we broke up before she could get around to force me to watch it with her.
