I've heard mixed things from different people. Basically, I really didn't want to watch it with her since I, uh, didn't like her -- and thus, figured I wouldn't like the movie too much either, hah.nocera wrote:Um, Heathers is awesome.meecrofilm wrote:One of my ex's wouldn't shut-up about that movie. Re: Movie
Watched Ponyo last night, I never saw any of Hayao Miyazaki other movies, but I really liked this. It was very strange at times, but the animation is awesome and my little girl liked it, so I can't complain. Looking forward to his others if they are as good as this

Heathers is a dark and, in an odd way, more realistic John Hughes movie. There's murder, explosions, suicide, croquet, cliques, and Christian Slater. What more do you want in a high school movie?meecrofilm wrote:I've heard mixed things from different people. Re: Movie
watched dead girl last night. Pretty gross, and did a few things right, but I can't reccomend it. It's a shame. I'd heard good things about it.
I picked up night of the creeps on DVD last night. Best horror flick from the 80's hands down.
Watching hot shots! on cable right now. Still funny...

Re: Movie
I know this was talked about more in the "scary movies" thread, but I watched Let The Right One In recently. Thought it was really well done, took me by surprise a bit (not in its quality, but in how it was done).
Funny that the Hollywood remake is being done to apparently "make it more accessible."
In doing so they'll most likely ruin the two best things it had going for it: atmosphere and cinematography.

I got a lot on my plate right now since I'm ill. Some recommendations from you guys in here as well:
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Zombieland
Drag Me To Hell
Assassination of Jessie James blah blah
... with Dark City and Sunny With A Chance of Meatballs on the way.

This is a good chance to run a disclaimer: I have unpredictable taste in movies, so don't be offending if I'm all "meh" about your favorite flick (not specifically addressed to you).Idoit40fans wrote:Haha I would have let that go if it weren't me mentioning it as my favorite movie.

Re: Movie
I just watched Pan's Labyrinth on TV last night. That was a weird movie, especially because I thought initially it was the same movie as Labyrinth with David Bowie. I figured after about 10 minutes when everything in Spanish that something was off. But a very weird movie to say the least... pretty depressing too.
