finally just finished watchmen. gotta say i enjoyed it. i have no experience with the book, so it was a little confusing for a while, but it was really well done with good, provocative characters and what i thought was a good twist on the ending.

aside from being really really long, i'm not sure why it's been somewhat dissed here. maybe it wasn't true to the book?

I never read the books. My problem is that every time Rorschach was on the screen, it was an A, and every other time it was a C or D, JMO. I didn't give a crap about Night Owl, The Comedian was a bag of charcoal of a person, etc.

Eternal Sunshine is fantastic.

In my opinion it degrades every time I watch it. It was really cool the first time, it just feels like it gets longer and longer every time I watch it.

Well, it's still really rough. There are a couple story threads that need cut out. Unfortunately, a lot of the issues are story problems so I'm not sure if those can be fixed by the time of the release. There were a ton of character decisions just left me really, really confused. Brand is funny but he's playing the exact same character from Forgetting Sarah Marshall (literally) so if you didn't like him in that, you'll likely have the same reaction with this.

Brand is funny but he's playing the exact same character from Forgetting Sarah Marshall (literally) so if you didn't like him in that, you'll likely have the same reaction with this.

Gotta agree, his popularity rose during a period where I had no cable and no computer, or as I called it Amish training. All of the sudden this bag was all over the place. I figured I wasnt doing the right drugs to find him entertaining, tried crack, crank, pills, paint thinner, asphyxiation(holy charcoal I spelled that right first try), and other than sporadic weight loss and gain, still Russell Brand was not entertaining.

Saw Shutter Island. Not really sure why the movie didn't get better reviews. Really, really enjoyed it.

My wife thought that it was a bit too long. Not me, I don't think there was anything I'd take out.

Somewhat early on I started wondering if Leo either was or would be patient 67, but, that didn't stop me from genuinely going along for the same ride as Leo. In the lighthouse scene you really find yourself thinking - they are setting him up...wait, maybe he is crazy...they are setting him up...wait, maybe he did it..etc. Movies that can put you in the same emotional state as the character (Garden State (numbness) comes to mind) are a by me.

Definitely think he was sane at the end. What was the comment? Something like -- "this place makes me wonder is it better to live as a monster or to die as a good man? Leo opts for the later, basically suggesting he doesn't trust himself to not go back and chooses to go with the zombie-like lobotomy thing.

Watched Ponyo last night, I never saw any of Hayao Miyazaki other movies, but I really liked this. It was very strange at times, but the animation is awesome and my little girl liked it, so I can't complain. Looking forward to his others if they are as good as this

I am a big fan of Miyazaki. You will not be disappointed with the rest of his works.

All his movies are great but my kids *loved* Ponyo. One weird film.

Jesse eisenberg might as well be micheal cera. They're pretty interchangeable as nervous awkward teenager.
