Anyone into car audio?

Post by FallenHero96 »

I have a 2005 Ford Escape that I am gonna put some sounds in. So far I have a MTX 12' 7500 DVC 4ohm sub and i'm going run it with a MTX Thunder421D, ran parallel down to 2ohms, in a ported box. I'm going to put in a Pioneer deck in it also (Pioneer DEH-P3800MP). But what I was going to ask about is some opinions on speakers. I need to pick up 2 pairs of 6x8's for my doors. I want to spend about 100 bucks a pair, so there are three that I am looking at. Keep in mind that I am going to be running from my new deck for now, so they will only be getting about 22/rms, 50 peak. I may amp them further down the road sometime.

Pioneer TS-A6881R - 4 way
Kicker KS68 - 2 way
MTX TDX6802 - 2 way

Those three I listed are all $99 a pair. Anyone have any opionions on these speakers? Or does anyone have a suggestion on some 6x8's that I didnt list? I know the Kappa's rule, but has anyone heard the Infintiy Reference series? How are they? Thanks for any opinions/suggestions!

If you're looking to spend $99 a pair, I'd look on eBay for anything from the MB quart line. I picked up a set of 6.5's for about $70 and a set of 5.25 for a little over $40.

Brand new, still in plastic.
