That was the highlight of the show for me.....I love it. I hope he finds his Virgil.

There's no way WWE could get away with a Virgil character.

Also, how much better is RAW without a guest host? This week was all about the wrestling and story progression. The three hours allowed them to have some decent length matches. I still think it's too long, but it'd be nice to get three or four lengthy matches a show. Without a guest host, that's certainly possible.

The tag division has a lot of momentum right now thanks to the title change and the rub from Bret Hart. WWE will probably mess it up though.

I think the WWE owns the rights to the Virgil character. It's why he couldn't use that name when he went to WCW (same thing happens to a lot of wrestlers).

I just meant there's no way WWE could have a rich white guy with an African American servant on television.

I like how the draft is panning out so far. They're loading Raw with the established stars (which will hopefully lead to the end of the guest hosts), and letting all the up and comers go to Smackdown. For example, the only true main eventer's (I'll only include current/former world champions) left on Smackdown are: CM Punk, Undertaker, Mysterio, Big Show and Swagger. Hopefully this means Christian and Kofi will get a legit main event run. I would love to see Kofi go heel.

Edit: I forgot to include Kane and The Great Khali, but we know they ain't gonna make any real noise. Maybe Kane, but I doubt it.

Virgil is actually in Pittsburgh.

Jones went to wrestling under his real name Mike Jones until he left WCW in 2000. Following his departure from WCW he retired from wrestling and is a math teacher in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He holds a degree in mathematics from the University of Virginia.

I met Virgil at the airport like 10 years ago. The funniest part about it was the dude was actually wearing his nWo shirt.

Smackdown just got a lot weaker now that Edge and Y2J moved to Raw. Im glad Christian went to Smackdown though and hopefully they give him a push. Since Smackdown has become weaker, I am really considering not going to the Smackdown show next Tuesday in Charleston, SC.

That's a good point. So yeah, I guess that won't happen then.

Yeah, I thought that was interesting. Smackdown is moving to SyFy in four weeks, so I'm guessing a big name will be traded or somehow end up on Smackdown (defeating Swagger?) by then in order to hype the move. I'm really going to miss Jericho on Smackdown though.

Keeping an eye on the supplemental draft on wwe.com. So far the only pick worthy of noting is Cody Rhodes to SmackDown. Here's the rest of the borefest so far:

Great Khali/Ranjin Singh to Raw
Chavo to SmackDown
Natalya to Raw
Chris Masters to SmackDown
Ezekiel Jackson to Raw

This thread has really piqued my interest in pro wrestling again. I haven't watched it since 2000, if I started again this summer, would I be interested and able to pick up quick enough?

I think you'd be able to pick it up pretty quick............as for being interested, I'm really not sure. I'm not even sure that I'm interested because it's good or just because watching it is habbit at this point.

Hopefully Natalya still appears with the Hart Dynasty. I know they can go show to show, but can their manager?

I was watching some old Wrestlemanias recently, and managers are certainly a lost art. Bobby Heenan, Mr. Fuji, Slick, Classy Freddie Blassie, Jimmy Hart, Captain Lou, The Grand Wizard, Miss Elizabeth, Sensational Sherri. I'm not sure if managers will ever become popular again, but it was an easy way to establish a young heel wrestler, especially guys who aren't good on the mic. If a new guy joined the Heenan family, he's automatically hated by everybody.

This was the pinnacle of my day. I so wanted Kane to switch from red to green and DX everyone.

Hah, the best part of that angle was when Kane used that thing that people with messed up tracheas use to speak (because this was before Kane miraculously learned to speak normal again) and said "Suuuuuck Itttttt"

Edit: Haha, Ok, so I was wrong about the trach thing:

He did use the traych thing for awhile in the WWF. I hated when he was de-masked to find out that hair wasn't even real, it was a wig. I thought unmasking kane was the worst thing you could do to his character.

I'm disappointed that I didn't hear "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a.....", even if it would have been cut off.
