The guest host thing has got to go. Wayne Brady didn't really add anything other than getting RKO'd.

They just need 1 3hr show, 1 world champ 1 tag and 1 woman's and that would be enough.

Raw is live from Mellon Arena this Monday. Should be interesting considering the Pens/Habs game 6 is up against it. I'll catch it on DVR after the game. Anyone going to this (or not going because of the Pens game)? Also, will they still have the screen outside if there's an event going on inside Mellon?

No big screen on Monday. Pens press released this on Friday, I do believe.steve784 wrote:Raw is live from Mellon Arena this Monday. Hah, I wonder if there will be anti-WWE backlash from Pens fans a la the anti-NBC backlash for blacking out the screen.Kovy27 wrote:No big screen on Monday. Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Wow that show was awful. WWE is so desperate to make fans know that Edge is supposed to be a heel now that they bring back Vickie? I was actually looking forward to RAW having a permanent GM, even if it was going to be the same old Vickie/Edge routine. Anything to lessen the role of the Celebrity Guest Hosts.
Even looking past the silly ending, that was just a horrible show. I feel bad for anybody who missed the Pens game, went to see that nonsense, then had to come back and watch the Pens lose on DVR. What a miserable night they must've had.

You're right, last night was atrocious. The only thing I'm interested in on Raw right now is the Hart Dynasty/Miz-icho feud.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I can't take the guest host crap anymore. Buzz Aldrin next week? Really? You're telling me you actually think that you're going to get boosted ratings because you have an astronaut on (sadly, I would bet half of the people that watch don't even know who Aldrin is). Also, as if that isn't dumb enough, let's have this American space hero that no one really gives a crap about now host the show IN CANADA! The only positive I see from this is that the Canadian fans will most likely boo him just out of the stupidity of having him be the host/general disgust in the guest host concept.

I heard for next week's show, every time a good guy gets taken down to the mat, the crowd will yell "HAAAAY! BOOOOO!" waiting for the official to call something.steve784 wrote:I hate to sound like a broken record, but I can't take the guest host crap anymore. Buzz Aldrin next week? Really? can somebody tell me how she continues to hold an on-air position with WWE?shafnutz05 wrote:I don't believe in hitting women, but I would slap Vickie Guerrero silly
She is terrible in the ring. I know that's not her specialty, but the one match I did see looked unorganized and she had to attempt her finisher twice because she screwed up the first attempt.
She is even worse on the mic. People are not booing because of the annoying catchphrase. They are booing because might be one of the worst on-air personalities in the last 20+ years.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
She gets the most amount of heat out of anyone in the WWE right now. Maybe it's not "good heat" but at least she's creating an emotional response from the audience, which is more than a lot of the heels do on a weekly basis. I love her "Excuse me" line. She knows how to make a crowd hate her, you have to give her that.JS© wrote:can somebody tell me how she continues to hold an on-air position with WWE?shafnutz05 wrote:I don't believe in hitting women, but I would slap Vickie Guerrero silly

She's been regulated to a managerial role lately, but she works better when she's in a position of power. I thought she was great at the height of the Edge/Vicki "marriage" when she'd come out in a wheelchair and neck brace.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
I totally agree with nocera on Vickie. She literally is the most over heel in WWE. Did you hear the heat the Mellon crowd gave her last night? It was insane!

Don't feel too bad for me. I was okay with missing the game (don't have DVR, either) and had a blast with my closest friends watching that "nonsense" instead. Not the best show but the trip was an early birthday present to me so I loved it. I had a lot of fun losing my voice, getting heat for being a Jerichoholic proudly holding my GELATINOUS PARASITIC TAPEWORM sign and watching the wrestlers go into the arena beforehand and into their buses at the end of the night. It was cool seeing Randy Orton(!) come out smiling and waving to the crowd. It was also cool listening to Cena after RAW went off the air talk about the upcoming Game 7 and the crazy Pittsburgh fans ... or "pandering to the hypocritical masses" as Jericho would say.

Oh yeah ... not getting lost or having my car break down this time was nice too.

Very cool. I'm glad you had a good time. Was it just RAW or do they tape Superstars as well? Dark match?A Burgh Thing wrote:nocera wrote:Wow that show was awful. Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Yeah, Superstars was taped as well ... Maryse/Jillian vs The Bellas and Vladimir Kozlov vs Ryan Mitchell for that. Before RAW it was Dos Caras defeating Matthew Justice and the post-show dark match was Cena against Batista (No-DQ, demanded by Batista) for the title with Sheamus interfering and Cena taking him out before hitting the Attitude Adjustment on Batista to end it.

Tonight's raw with Buzz Aldrin is going to be terrible. I might flip to Raw during commercial breaks and intermissions of the Memorial Cup game to see how it is going.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
I agree about Buzz Aldrin, but I think tonight should be interesting. Live from Toronto with the Hitman's first appearance in Canada since he came back (and rumored to be last appearance of his current stint with WWE). It's also commercial free tonight, so that's a bonus as long as they use the extra minutes for you know, wrestling.Old Time Hockey wrote:Tonight's raw with Buzz Aldrin is going to be terrible.
