My favorite Griffey memory was sitting in the bleachers at Fenway and heckling him. The fans out there actually liked him because he reacted to them. They'd yell at him and he'd wave at them behind his back while he was in the field. They were merciless with outfielders they thought they were getting to.

This is one of the reasons I like baseball so much.... only 18 perfect games in over 100 years of baseball and then one bad call away from three perfect games in a third of a season.

If I was Galarraga I would have taken my 50 game suspension and beat the living crap out of the umpire. Unbelievable...if it's that close, you call him out and give him the perfect game.

No wonder the Orioles suck, their President of baseball operations is named MacPhail.BALTIMORE(AP) Dave Trembley was fired Friday as manager of the Baltimore Orioles, who have the worst record in the major leagues and are staggering toward a franchise-record 13th consecutive losing season.
Third base coach Juan Samuel was appointed interim manager by president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail, who hired Trembley to take over on an interim basis for Sam Perlozzo on June 18, 2007.

Note to NH...look at what the orioles did, and don't do that!
They brought in a bunch of veteran sludge to supplement their young, inexperienced core to try and speed up their ascension. Don't bring in the Kevin Millwoods, garret atkins and mike gonzalez of world...ever.

Millwood has actually been a good pickup. Some of the worst run support in the league, I believe.
it's still in the 14th, so it could get worse, but how's this fantasy line tex and lind have produced for me today...12abs, 0hits, 9ks

Big week for the the young guys.... Strasburg starts on Tuesday and Stanton has been called up.
Plus, the Bryce Harper extravaganza will be in full swing. He got tossed from his last college game for arguing balls and strikes.

The more I hear about Harper, the more I hope the Nationals take him and it's not even a decision for the Pirates. The dude is a total head case.

Yeah, I've only recently started reading about the attitude concerns, but that combined with the fact that he's just 17 could make him a scary pick. Plus he'll probably get record money.

Not sure how anyone can look at that video in a vacuum and blame the hitter for anything there. That umpire clearly was in the wrong. Thats the kind of awful call that you can only see made as part of a dramatization in a movie.
