one of the many people to play the Black Scorpion was Bill Irwin, the same Bill Irwin who was kicked out of every hockey league and eventually came to the WWF to wrestle as The Goon

When I read the spoilers for the Undertaker/Kane angle, I thought it was completely ridiculous. But, I have to admit Kane completely sold it. His promo to start the show was awesome and I like that he now has a purpose. I can easily see WWE fumbling the angle and the payoff being lame, but I was surprised how much I dug it.
My guess: Million Dollar Man claims to have found the Undertaker and brings him back, but Paul Bearer is all, "pfft, THIS is the real Undertaker. See, he's totally wearing purple now." And then the Fake Undertaker and the Purple Rain Undertaker have a match that nobody cares about.

What I think would be cool is if Kane was like "I'm not actually the undertaker's brother, never was, never have been" and just walked off.nocera wrote:When I read the spoilers for the Undertaker/Kane angle, I thought it was completely ridiculous. Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
Just watched Smackdown. Me and my buddies that watch have this inside joke where I'm always rooting for Kane and on his bandwagon, don't really know where it came from, I think one of them dissed Kane once and I vehemently defended him. I texted them immediately after that whole ceremony/promo demanding Kane be nominated for an Emmy award. That was hilariously awesome. But yeah nocera you're right, they'll find a way to ruin this.
Edit: Also, I don't get how essentially you make that whole episode about Kane with the 20 minute open and all the backstage segments, then have Mysterio win the battle royal? I'm sorry, I respect Rey's abilities and everything, but I'm tired of seeing him in main events that everyone knows he won't win. Do something different.

Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
I think it makes sense to have Rey in the main event. He was supposed to be taking time off, and ended up injuring Taker in their Smackdown match last week so they had to quickly change the plan. Rey is super over and that match needs another top star. I do agree with you though, it's getting tiresome watching him be defeated in championship matches. He's not a guy that needs a title, but it's a shame that he was never given a true run.steve784 wrote:Edit: Also, I don't get how essentially you make that whole episode about Kane with the 20 minute open and all the backstage segments, then have Mysterio win the battle royal? As for Kane, I'm assuming they're keeping him out of the main event in order to give him a match with the person "responsible" for taking out the Undertaker. I'm just happy Kane finally has something to do.

yesssssss
Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter
It's being reported that WWE Smackdown star Kane is expected to receive a huge push in the coming weeks. One source within WWE says Vince McMahon was extremely pleased with his promo on Smackdown and the reaction he received. Although there were rumors regarding Kane’s disinterest in winning the world title, apparently those rumors were false and Kane himself denied the claims.

If I was a late night talk show host I'd have Vladimir Kozlov as my Ed Mcmahon

These A-Team segments are some of the worst guest host segments they've ever done. That's saying a lot.skullman80 wrote:Yeah.. really really bad.steve784 wrote:God Raw is awful so far.....

You're exactly right, but that's the first time in years I've literally been stunned by Raw. Did not see that coming at all.SolidSnake wrote:steve784 wrote:Holy crap........best end to Raw EVER.Spoiler:

I was thinking the same thing. The entire show was so awful but what an awesome ending. Altho_ was it me or was that a poor mans NWO takeover? The chaos_ no announcers, trashing everything_ and the crowd throwing trash at the ring. Still cool tho

Yeah the NWO thing kind of popped into my head too, but I'll take it, it's something different.DudeMan2766 wrote:I was thinking the same thing. Re: The Pro Wrestling Thread
That ending was awesome. It made an otherwise awful show... at least watchable if only for that. It amazes me that the writers can actually put together something decent like that, but can't do it on a consistent basis.
