Carpenter and Wainwright sure but nobody after that. The top two is great but the others are coddled by pitching in the NL Central.Be1isarius89 wrote:No love for the Cardinals? Carpernter, Wainright, Garcia, Penny, and Suppan/Lohse. I'd take that pitching staff over anyone's in baseball.Idoit40fans wrote:Do the braves have the best rotation in baseball? I'm a Braves fan and think so, but realize that I'm biased. Its gotta be them or the Rays though. I know Kawakami is 0-9, but he's actually not pitching that badly. Way better than 0-9. Medlen has come out of the Pen to do effing work as a starter. If they wanted to, they could keep him in there when Jurrjens comes back in a week and a half or so. Lowe, Hudson, Hanson, Jurrjens, Kawakami/Medlen. Do work braves.

Obama was at the Nats game to see the phenom. When does he come to PGH? I might have to break down and pay for the 1st ticket I've ever bought in PNC Park history that I didn't expense and give to a client.
Would I be the only Yinzerburgh denizen standing and cheering for a pending strikeout everytime the phenom has 2 strikes on a Bucco batter?

Was anyone else in pain yesterday with no games they cared about on? Fortunately I didn't watch True Blood on Sunday so I had something to watch last night.

yeah that sucked, I wish they'd split the off days up better rather than having them all on one day like that.Idoit40fans wrote:Was anyone else in pain yesterday with no games they cared about on? Fortunately I didn't watch True Blood on Sunday so I had something to watch last night.

It sucked that the one game I cared about included the Yanks being down 5-0 after one inning.

Re: Non-Pirates Baseball Thread
Anyone see that bock in the top of the 9th in the LA/LAA game? It was the most obvious bock i've ever seen...literally. Huge out too, tieing run on second, 1 out, 3-1 count.
Oh my god. Then the batter ends up walking, next guy singles, and Martin who was the walk rounded second and got caught out there before the run scored. Game over. Umpire wrong on the pickoff and on the out at second. Meanwhile the guy trying to score practically stopped, should have scored.
Watch highlights tonight/tomorrow, ridiculous end to the game.

Pitchers duel in Chicago. Lowe has given up 5 hits through 6, Floyd has given up 2 hits through 6 2/3.
EDIT: Still 2 shutouts going with Chicago coming up in the bottom of the 8th with the top of the order coming up.
EDIT2: Saito gives up a 2 run homer to Konerko in the 8th.
