only if they spend all their good prospects bringing in a different pitcher, then they can flip Oswalt for crappy ones. That's apparently how they like to deal.SolidSnake wrote:He'll get traded in the offseasonbeerman wrote:Sources are saying Oswalt is going to waive his NTC to go to Philly.

I think it's pretty awesome the guy wore the jersey there, F Cleveland.
He should've known he'd get this kind of reaction though.

In strict baseball terms, and without taking the last 18 years into consideration, the Astros are *a lot* worse off than the Pirates.

I dont condone doing that stuff to anyone, but when you're being obviously intentionally antagonistic like that, you are asking for it. He knew what he was doing....somewhat I guess. If he would have shown up in his Cavs Lebron jersey because maybe he is still a fan of his, he may have just got the verbal bashing and thats it. But he was doing that on purpose.Troy Loney wrote:I remember going to a pirates/giants game like 6/7 years ago and some little kid had on a bonds jersey-t. Coincedentally, 2 years ago my friends and I were at a Philly's game after the Pens first Finals trip when they beat Philly in the ECF. We all 7 intentionally wore our Penguin shirts. I think people were just too confused to heckel us. Everyone was staring as we walked in and we heard a few people were like "What the f*** is this, I didnt know we were at a f***** Penguins game."

Oswalt plans to OK the deal.
Astros will send $11M to the Phillies who won't exercise Oswalt's option for 2012 but will add an extra mil or so to the buyout. JA Happ and Anthony Gose going to Houston along with another prospect.

Yeah, that guy was just givin it to them and just harassing them and she just started like slapping him and pushing him. I didn't see it but I guess she got hit in the face. We ran to the exit to see them get escorted out. Those were a lot of pissed off people.beerman wrote:Nice, I wish that kid would've been closer to the dude's gf getting hit in the face at the end of pt 2.canaan wrote:lulzbeerman wrote:

So why did they guy get escorted out? If you wear a shirt like that, yeah, you should expect go get heckled. You shouldn't expect to get your beer slapped out of your hand and have to leave the game though.

Re: Non-Pirates Baseball Thread
White Sox trade Daniel Hudson to the D'backs for Edwin Jackson. Presumably this will lead to another deal, possibly Jackson for Dunn. If that's the case, why wouldn't the Nats just trade Dunn for Hudson? I would think that would be a better option for them. And if the Sox aren't dealing Jackson for something else, why did they just trade one of their good young pitchers for him?

Berkman to the Yanks. Great move...pure money transaction as the Yankees are paying the remainder of his contract this year. But Berkman fits the Yankees well...Repeat...

Yanks also get Kearns for depth. I like the Berkman move as he's a patient hitter who should fit in well with that lineup. Would've preferred Dunn, but the cost probably would have been too steep and he doesn't want to DH. I guess the Nats have been saying all along that they wanted Edwin Jackson, but are now backing off that, which really leaved the White Sox in no-man's land.

Man, that is tough. If I had drafted that group I would have been expecting to finish near or at the top.LeopardLetang wrote:

Qualls to the Rays. The asking price for relievers must still be ridiculously high.

I didn't know the astros got brett wallace straight up for the outfield prospect in the oswalt deal. Happ and wallace is a solid return for oswalt i believe.

It's funny to watch the Red Sox pitchers throw at people, then get outraged when the opponent retaliates. They're the Ravens of baseball.
