Boulerice Suspended 10 Games

From the AHL: "The American Hockey League today announced that Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins right wing Jesse Boulerice has been suspended for ten (10) games as a result of his actions in a game at Charlotte on Jan. 5. Boulerice was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 28.1 (supplementary discipline) after review of an incident in the third period of Wednesday's game. Boulerice was determined to have deliberately applied physical force to an official without intent to injure, which carries a 10-game suspension under AHL Rule 40.3. Boulerice will begin serving his suspension tonight (Jan. 7) vs. Bridgeport. He will be eligible to return to the Penguins lineup on Jan. 28."

Glad to see refs are jokes at all levels. Not that Boulerice doesn't have the background, but that's a joke. He ran into the ref after kicking the puck and that happens pretty often at all levels during play. The ref was upset and made a call purely based on emotion and the league had to back the ref.

Looks to me like the ref had something against him. Having the stick knocked out of his hands, and the Boulerice pushing the ref out of the way is pretty hilarious.
