Question about WBS and Movement.
Why did the Penguins pick a place so far away for their minor league team. Do you think they've ever thought about actually moving the team closer to Pittsburgh?

it would make sense to have them closer but you also have to have a market that can draw enough. I know most minor league teams are lucky if they break even. Also WBS is close to alot of teams that the Pens play so its not that bad in case of an emergency while on the road.

New 8300 seat arena in an area that didn't have a lot of winter sports options. It's also within easy driving distance of many of the AHL teams.

WBS is a great option. Within a 4-5 hour drive plus since the Pittsburgh group also owns the WBS group, this is a marriage made in heaven.

Ah nice to know. I just thought it was weird that WBS is hours away from the central location. Kind of like how the Carolina(I think) had their team moved closer to the organization.

There are plenty of NHL/AHL affiliates that are further apart geographically than Pittsburgh to Wilkes-Barre.Digitalgypsy66 wrote:L.A. has their AHL team in Manchester, NH...
