Our VP of Mobile just got his Xoom today (his wife is an exec at Verizon, so he gets 'friend' pricing). He's running round the office making fun of all the iPad people, it's kinda funny.

Re: How many of you own a droid?
i just got an ipad this past week because i got such a great deal on it (270 for a 32gb).... god do i wish i could run honeycomb on it. the IOS operating system even when jailbroken is so closed. aside from the way itunes handles music everything is better about android IMO.

Anyone have one of these?
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Or have a suggestion for an FM transmitter for a Droid 2? I don't have a aux input in my car and I'd like to listen to my music in my car.

The thunderbolt is AWESOME! I have 4G in akron and its unbelievable. The phone is a great phone regardless of the network. Better than the iPhone imo.

I was debating waiting for the bionic after all the delays but this is totally worth it.

How's the battery life? That's my biggest concern about the thunderbolt

Battery is subpar in 4G but normal in 3G compared to my old droid...there is an extended battery coming out so no worries there...stopper40 wrote:ulf wrote:The thunderbolt is AWESOME! So I'm getting 5 mb/s dl and 26 up. Granted, I get one or two bars in my apartment, so I would guess a little over that usually.mac5155 wrote:what are the speeds you're getting?

Re: How many of you own a droid?
so now that Thunderbolt is out and looking at specs between that and X, what do you guys like? Seems like the X still has the better camera quality. From what I've read, Thunderbolt is a little better with 4G, but sounds like they are pretty comparable otherwise. what you say?

Re: How many of you own a droid?
i bought my x about a month ago... love it. i can't say much about the thunderbolt because i've never picked one up, but i wouldn't trade in my x at this moment for anything.

Re: How many of you own a droid?
my mom has the X and I like the thunderbolt a lot better. I think the screen is much nicer. also a fan of the HTC layout...just seems a little quicker than the X. Not that the X would be a bad choice, I just really like my new phone...but with 4G coming everywhere pretty soon, i'd go with the Thunderbolt.

Any experience playing the X's video into an HDTV? Do you just need the mini-HDMI to regular HDMI cable? Haven't tried it yet, but is it as simple as whatever is playing on your phone's gallery (videos and pictures taken with the phone) shows on the TV?

Amazon Android App Store has Angry Birds Rio for free this week, and Shazaam! (song tagging app) for free too.

Re: How many of you own a droid?
I might be insane. Im heading out in 30 minutes to check out the 2. If I can get the X for $50 or Thunderbolt for $200, would I still be insane getting the X? Also if my 2 year contract expires next month, can I renew now and get some extra perks towards new phone?
girl at my work has thunderbolt and has to recharge every 6 hours, I don't like that

You wouldn't be crazy getting the x. It's basically comparable to the Iphone4, depending on which UI/OS you like.
